Is this the company that was accused of hiding malware in the BIOS?

C'mon.

They used a windows activation tool to activate the windows and the tool unfortunately comes with malware.

They are just some poor guys try to save a buck. Not good granted but really not as some people claimed it to be.

They have been caught multiple times not just with the fake windows activation.

That is the exact issue the other guy mentioned and it has been hyped too much. It was a Windows 11 Bypass tool which allows to log in to Windows without using a Microsoft Account and some of their developers were using it for testing, without creating MS account. Those were in the Windows, nothing in BIOS and if you do a clean Install (Not system restore), those will be gone.
I did the same with mine too. I did not detect any malware in the 1st place but still did the fresh install. Simply copied the Product Key to be on the safer side, and ran a fresh install, that's all it took.

Keep in mind that if you get this Mini PC, you are going to be using SODIMM memory so you are gonna be limited to 5600MT speeds. that is gonna severely limit the iGPU speed. A big part of the uplift of the 890M is the increased bandwidth from LPDDR5X 7500MT. It's what boosts the overall performance more than the increase core count and clock speed. So don't expect much performance uplift over a 780M. The CPU performance wont really be affected though.

But that allows you to have up to 96GB of ram which opens a lot of other possibilities. I highly doubt that people are buying this at over 650 bucks for playing games, in the 1st place, any laptop with a RTX 3050 would do that way better.
The powerful integrated gpu, coupled with huge memory size, can allow you to run even big LLM. There are multiple demos available online where people are using this or Minisforum AI X1 Pro to run deepseek with over 7B parameters.
