This isn't a matter of features, it's a matter of a completely different generation of tool.
I'm aware, that's what I was calling out. This is a lower end impact wrench with limited usage that would be better served by Dewalt's XR line that is a more common set of impact wrenches for typical uses. I linked to the typical mid torque version (hog anvil or pin detent, pick one, doesn't really matter) but mine was the tool connect version which is mostly unnecessary...it's another pick & choose, but that mid torque one fits more common uses for an impact wrench unless people have a need for the high torque ones.

I don't think you're understanding me still, you posted the 896 which is an 894 with tool connect, the current mid torque is the 891, it has 600/800 vs the 896/894 at 330/600 ft lbs,

If the lug nuts are properly torqued to begin with it will take off pretty much any lug nut aside from big rigs, and heavy equipment.

It would, but its lower down on the power list (only 250ft-lbs), and is a tad larger and less powerful than the newer version: DCF923/DCF921 (300ft-lbs) which will cost a little more. Info on all their impact wrenches: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu1VGp-HSZs
I myself already have a DCF923 (3/8") and was thinking of getting this to get a 1/2", but losing power AND going larger anvil made no sense to me.
If you don't have any impact wrenches yet, this is a decent price for a starter, but it won't be that powerful for large rusted nuts . May be good for a home handyman type use.

I have the DCF901 (12v version with similar specs to this) and it cannot take the lug nuts off a properly torqued Expedition (150 ft lbs), but it can take it off my Mercedes (~100 ft lbs). So anything smaller than a full size truck or SUV should be fine, but that's it.

I bought it today and removed rust lug nuts from MDX. I tried breaker bar earlier but no go, this tool took 10s to warm up and this a must for any husband whose wife/gf bring flat tires home. Life saver for $99.
I will cancel my Milwaukee Gen 2 stubby as I need extra strength battery to get full 500 ft torque. This tool get it done without anything extra. Hope it will stay in the family for long like my other power tools .

IMHO the DCF921 or DCF923 depending on drive size preference is a better value. They go on sale for similar pricing if you wait. You get more power and I believe a slightly shorter head length to get in tight spaces. I sold my old mid-torque after getting a 923, I've been debating adding the new 891 mid torque and selling my 899 high torque

And that shows how much i've been paying attention to all the dewalt tools lately. I thought they only had 3 XR mid torque impact wrenches...

Worth checking out hypertough mid torque from Walmart or even harbor freight tools.
We are living in one of the greatest times. Even the "cheap brands" can compete with the last gen expensive brands. I already went team red so I'm locked in but if I had to start over I'd have gone with cheaper options.
