Called into T-Mobile today because I got a text saying my plan is increasing by $5/line since my older T-Mobile One plan has been the same price for 8 years. The rep told me that there is a targeted offer available to some older plans that started today 3/13/25. Bring your own device and get a free line. I had to pay $10 for a sim card, but they were able to credit me $10 to my account.

Worth a try to call in if you have an older plan. YMMV.

Thanks for the reply. Guess I'm not eligible then. I haven't received anything about a price increase though, maybe it's rolling out in phases.

I have the TMO ONE All in plan with one free line.

The way free lines work is that the line technically costs money but a promo code discount deducts that price back down to $0, making it free. Let's say the rule actually is "you don't get this new free line promo if you already have existing free lines". I'm worried that there are mixed reports of some reps denying adding the free line due to the rule, but that there are some reps adding it for you anyway. For the people who actually have existing free lines and the rep added this new free line, is there a high chance that when the next billing cycle comes this new promo won't actually be applied?

Since we already had 4 lines on my Advantage Unlimited Plus (1 free) / previously a SWAC account so they weren't able add another. They offered to move me to another account to get the line which I declined. But thanks for the tip!

I called that number and the rep said it would have to show up on my tlife app.

No mention of a free line on the app
When I called, they said it's targeted to customers with old rate plans. What plan are you on?

I'm guessing the Magenta Max and Go5G plans won't qualify. I had the One plan.

In my experience, highly unlikely hat when the next billing cycle comes this new promo won't actually be applied. I say this because I've had a total of 3 other free lines added to my One plan in the past. Each one worked exactly how you laid out with promos taking the price back down to zero. Each time, when another free line was added, the next bill correctly showed the additional line as being free after promos. This will be my 4th free line on a family plan with 8 total lines. 4 will be paid and 4 free.

There's always a chance something could go wrong. But, seeing as I went through this 3 times before without something going wrong, I'd say the chances are low.

Check your T-life app.
We are giving you a free line.

Just for being a valued customer. Redeem this limited-time offer today by calling us at 833 579 2248.

you'll have to pay a one-time $10 Device Connection Charge.

https://www.t-mobile.com/
Make sure to ask the rep to credit you $10 to offset the device connection charge. Mine did it for me. This is how I went about it:
Me: Instead of giving you my CC, can you just add the charge to my regular bill?
Rep: Sorry, we don't have the ability to do that.
Me: That's unfortunate and a little bit of a hassle that I've got to give out my CC# over the phone. Is there anything you can do?
Rep: I'm sorry, I'll still need your CC#, but I can give you a $10 credit on your next bill to offset it.
Me: Thanks, lets do it. Appreciate the willingness to work with me here.

Good luck to you all.

Yeah I also have multiple existing free lines. The reason this particular promo has me a bit worried is because unlike the previous promos this one seemingly has a stipulation that says "Customers with two or more free lines are not eligible." If that rule is coded into the system I'm not sure if the promo will fail to apply to the account when the next bill generates.

Take screenshots of your T-life app with Hi __Your Name__ and the free line ad. Email and save those screenshots. If you do get charged down the line, you can prove that T-Life solicated you with the offer and the T-mobile agent activated based on the offer. What happens next is TBD: manual activation of the offer, manual credits to offset the charges, cancellation of line, etc.

So I'm on the SWAC plan with 1 paid and 1 free line currently. Got the notification in the app, called and the rep was very knowledgeable, pulled up my account and was surprised. He say you have 2 promos for free lines, would like both, and of course I said sure...... Did his thing for like 10 min. confirmed nothing to change on SWAC plan and we were all set. Just told him I'm driving and couldn't get my CC info., waived $20. Got email after confirming lines, also surprisingly got the price increase text too! Go figure? Asked for 2 physical sims and confirmed everything once again. Agent said it could take up to 4 days to show in the app. Now have 1 paid SWAC and 3 free lines.......
