Called into T-Mobile today because I got a text saying my plan is increasing by $5/line since my older T-Mobile One plan has been the same price for 8 years. The rep told me that there is a targeted offer available to some older plans that started today 3/13/25. Bring your own device and get a free line. I had to pay $10 for a sim card, but they were able to credit me $10 to my account.

Worth a try to call in if you have an older plan. YMMV.

So, I did this... and now I get a bunch of texts that my other lines have been unenrolled because my account no longer meets the promotion eligibility criteria. I had 3 paid lines and 5 free lines from previous promotions.

I'd be screwed if I had to pay for all those free lines that are in use! Hoping TMo can fix this, even if I have to give up the free line I just got.

Argh!!
Correct..they moved (or the system did, actually) to the 9 line section of the plan...that is what has prevented me from adding another free line during these last few promos. It can be fixed, but takes a supervisor typically, to ensure your other lines stay free. Some claim the 9 line plan is cheaper per line, but I remain unconvinced its worth the hassle to straighten out a perfectly working plan with free lines, free HD vid promo, kickbacks on all lines and other settings, just to add another line I likely won't even use. I only use half of my free lines as it is...

Free lines don't get the kickback, only paid lines.

Before panicking, this may be great news. Based on your description, you moved to a 9+ plan. Your promos were naturally unenrolled from your previous plan, so you got the text messages. Before reaching out to T-mobile, first make sure there is something to fix.

1) Log into your T-mobile account and check your service promotions.
2) a) If the free line promotions are there, there is nothing to fix.
2) b) If some promotions are missing, continuing monitoring your account for the next week. If they don't get added back by the system, reach out to T-Force and ask politely about your missing promotions. If they say they see it on their side, then that's normal and will show up for you eventually. If not, work with them to resolve it.
3) Review your next bills thoroughly.

By converting from 8 line to 9+ line plan, your bill should drop ~$50 (varies based on your other promotions) due to your original 5 free lines (~$10 per free line in the base 8 lines)

Spoke to TMoo just now...the nice CS said they fixed it, and my bill would now be same as it was before + this new free line. Guess we'll have to wait and watch.

By the way, all of my lines supposedly have kickbacks...I have no idea what that is though?

Anyone seeing the free line promo banner on t-mobile.com instead of on T-Life app? What is your plan history (i.e, former Sprint customer, SWAC Advantage Unlimited Plus converted to T-Mobile Advantage Unlimited Plus, etc.)?

I had two free lines. But, it is free "only after" $5 Autopay discount. Since there is a limit on $40 Autopay credit per bill cycle, so it means that if you already have more than 8 lines in the account. You will need to pay $5 per month, right?

Got the free line but was forced to add it to a phone right away. Wouldn't send out a SIM card. We had an extra SE so we used that, but really just wanted an open free line. We don't plan on using it for a while.

If we sell that SE can T mobile just remove that phone from the line?

My grandfathered Kickstart line got the message in Tlife. I called and they said they'd have to move me to a new plan for it, at a cost of $90 a month. GTFOH.

Tmobile suck these days. Been with them for over 24 years, I'm moving elsewhere. Tired of their bs.

Another Kickstart plan holder here...it was bad enough with the stupid debit/check payment to keep the $30 rate. Now at $35 (and factoring in the plan no longer seems eligible for free in flight Wifi, and the Tmobile tuesday 'deals' are terrible now), I think it's time to dump them for U.S. Mobile (Unlimited Flex breaks down to $17.50 a month if you pay for the year). Unlimited data/5gb hotspot and I can still stay on Tmobile's network (they have some other plans that aren't too much more if you need International coverage). Seems like a no brainer!

I have the ONE plan with T-Mobile, and up until now, I had two paid lines and two free lines. Since I didn't see any promo on the T-Life app, I immediately reached out for help via the in-app chat. They gave me the following response, and by paying a $10 fee, I was able to get my third free line:

"Yes, your account is eligible to sign up for this offer. Targeted customers active as of March 4, 2025, who are on eligible rate plans and have at least 2 paid voice lines, as well as no more than two free or discounted lines on their account, can receive a free voice line through monthly bill credits."

I wanted to share this information so that others in the same situation can benefit.

for those receiving the text with discount code, did you do esims or physical? It's been over 5 hrs and all I got was the order of the Physical SIMs. Nothing about new line but did receive an email about a new service agreement. My assumption is the line is not activate until you activate the sims to get the text or when the sims is shipped.
