Called into T-Mobile today because I got a text saying my plan is increasing by $5/line since my older T-Mobile One plan has been the same price for 8 years. The rep told me that there is a targeted offer available to some older plans that started today 3/13/25. Bring your own device and get a free line. I had to pay $10 for a sim card, but they were able to credit me $10 to my account.

Worth a try to call in if you have an older plan. YMMV.

So I just completed this thorough the messenger app chat. Very simple, they activated it via esim immediately. I currently had 4 lines on magenta max, insider discount, 1 free line. So now it's 5 lines, $128 total. The nice woman credited me back the $10 fee, but I still had to pay it up front. I've had trouble in the past with these free line promos so I'm still hesitant until I get the next few bills. I did save the chat so at least I'll have something to back it up if something goes wrong. Thanks OP!

whats an insider discount and how ro get it. thks

So that's one reason i don't even want to try - right now i have 12 lines and 2 mobile internet lines.

I have a feeling i can't have anymore lines on my account, am on the One plan.
Yes, I believe One has 12 lines max, you'd have to go to the Business department to get more lines, and it wont be the One plan. In the old days, 12+ lines were quite a bit cheaper on Business, but that was a while ago.

T-mobile is offering a free line to select customers [tmo.report]. Check your T-life app to see if you qualify, first box on the homescreen will say "We're giving you a FREE line."

If you qualify, call 833-579-2248 to add the line. That number connected me to an agent with 1 ring and I got free line added within 10 minutes.
Nothing for me. I never get anything.

The reps don't manually put the line under a promotion. As long as your account was eligible and had the segment, anyone who added a line would get it free, as the system would auto apply the promotionA rep overseas could do it, TForce in the US, Costco, etc. even you could do it. If you went to a T-Mobile store they'd make you pull up the TLife app and add the line yourself. TForce has actually been telling people to just add the line yourself so you don't have the $10 fee. The last free line promos worked like this as well. People just added it themselves in the app once they confirmed they were eligible
That's what I was told. Just add it myself and the promo will kick in. I'm a bit skeptical ..

I called the number listed in Tlife app, requested physical SIM card send to me. No text message yet, has been 2 days, the SIM should be at my house tomorrow. I chat with an agent on Tlife app, he confirmed the line is free, once I got the SIM card, just pop it in my phone and go. I took the screen shot for record. I got One plan with 7 lines, 3 lines free, this is my 4th free.

Same thing was said to me. Sim card is arriving tomorrow hopefully things are true.

Totally Same
Did T-Mobile also tell you they had this promo for your plan last year?

Just curious if anyone with this plan ("2 Lines ONE Plan All In Promo, was $80 for 3 lines, now $90) received 2nd free line ever?

I had 2 paid lines and one free line, magenta max, account opened exactly 2 years ago. But didn't see anything in my T-Life app. So I called 611 and told them I saw this offer in my T-Life app. They put me on hold and then came back and said I was eligible. Also waived the $10 fee. SIM card arriving in 2 days.

Magenta Max - 2 paid lines + free 3rd line + home internet + Digits (Apple Watch) since 2022. This will be 4th line, hopefully free as well.

Took a leap of faith and added the new line via T-Life app. Nothing out of pocket, free physical SIM being shipped. Still said I would be on the hook for $30 per month. Based on the comments here since I had the tile for a free line I should get the deal. If not I guess I can cancel.

How does a free line work? Does each line use its own minutes/text/data? Does the second line share minutes/text/data from the first line?

This is the plan that I have. It is 2 paid lines and then I added a free line when they were running a promo years ago.

I did not receive any notification on the T-Life app about a free line this time around. I don't think I've ever been eligible for any other free lines. I don't think I can even add an extra paid line without it being a crazy price from what I remember when I chatted a few years ago to see about adding another line. I think this plan is maxed out on free lines.

Nope. I have the same plan and never qualify for these promotions. Even excluded from the "Netflix on us"

T-Mobile has partnered with Elon Musk's starlink. Just in case that is a factor in your decision-making process.

They're all being jerks to me. Saying that I'm not eligible because I have more than two free lines and then I bring up the FCT and the FCC complaints I'm going to make and they just get even more pissed.
