Called into T-Mobile today because I got a text saying my plan is increasing by $5/line since my older T-Mobile One plan has been the same price for 8 years. The rep told me that there is a targeted offer available to some older plans that started today 3/13/25. Bring your own device and get a free line. I had to pay $10 for a sim card, but they were able to credit me $10 to my account.

Worth a try to call in if you have an older plan. YMMV.

Consider this. 9 lines on ONE after price hike = $355 before Autopay. Every line credits $30 up to line 9, with 5 free lines that's $165 right there after $40 Autopay. Check your last bill if Insider is calculated off your plan price before (old) or after discounts (new). If old Insider your discount would be $71, if new $33. That is without any Kickback.

So you'd be looking at either $94 (old) or $132 (new) before Kickback and including the increase. And you'd get an extra line. If that line happens to be free because the promo kicks in, you'd be even $24 lower than my quotes.
How do you guys get kickbacks on free line? mine only on paid lines.

FRLTULF2 is a max 8-line plan, so knowingly/unknowingly your plan was changed by the rep/system to accommodate a 9th line. Unless something has changed recently, you may be unable to add even a fully paid line. Did you have Kickbacks etc and were they dropped as well?

BTW - do you have - Line Discount ID210004 on your account, and were they able to reinstate it? It was dropped from my account a year ago when I changed the number on one line with a promise that nothing would change. Have been fighting for over a year now to get it reinstated but have not been successful just yet.

**BE AWARE!!!**

Let me tell you about my experience with this mess.

I am on the T-Mobile One plan (FRLTULF2) with three paid lines and five free lines. I received this offer on the T-Life app. I called the number on the ad, and the rep seemed knowledgeable. He mentioned that he had the same plan with many free lines and was happy to see another customer with a similar setup.

I asked him at least five times if this would affect **anything** on my plan, and he repeatedly assured me that it wouldn't. He even contacted his higher-ups to confirm and said that nothing would change, I wouldn't lose any discounts, including my five free lines and the insider discount. So, I told him to add the line.

An hour later, I received ten text messages saying me that I had been unenrolled from my discounts, losing the five free lines discount and the insider discount.

I called back and spoke to another rep. She explained that since I already had more free lines, I wasn't eligible for this offer in the first place. Adding this "new" free line automatically unenrolled me from all my existing promotions.

After spending **two hours** on the phone, I managed to get my five free lines reinstated and canceled the "newly" added free line. But, she couldn't restore the insider discount herself. She sent an email to the other department and told me it could take 2–3 days for them to add the insider discount back to my account.

If you use less than 2GB of data on a line per billing period, you get $10 ($8 if you have insider's discount as well) discount.

Additionally, it was proposed as only available on paid lines, but when applied to some accounts the kickback applied to all lines that stayed under 2GB a month. So it was assumed the promo could be applied to either line level or account level. That was the theory on Reddit back during the promo.

Currently on T-Mobile One plan with 7 lines (1 free) and one data only line. Plan has lifetime 20% off and 4 lines have kickback. Had to call twice as the first rep tried for 40 min to get the new free line applied and couldn't. I figured there is another rep who knows another way to make it happen and I'd give it one more try.

Second rep confirmed it could be done, but they had to add a data only line temporarily then convert it to a free phone line through another system.

I tried to add it to free lines, but was never successful, so gave up.

Not "some accounts". KB on free lines doesn't do anything if you have up to 8 lines. However, if you have 9+ lines KB does absolutely generate even for free lines that are below 2GB.

In my case, I had 9 lines, but one is a free promo Digits line (beta tester), so my plan shows 8 vox lines and 1 data line. I did have kickback on all lines incl. free lines before I added the latest 2 free lines . Also, I have skipped the past 3 free lines promos, fearing a plan error. Got TLife prompt on this promo, as well as the $5 text hit, but my latest bill only shows $85 due...no sign as of yet the $ increase. April 7 amount due.

I called the number listed in Tlife app, requested physical SIM card send to me. No text message yet, has been 2 days, the SIM should be at my house tomorrow. I chat with an agent on Tlife app, he confirmed the line is free, once I got the SIM card, just pop it in my phone and go. I took the screen shot for record. I got One plan with 7 lines, 3 lines free, this is my 4th free.
SIM finally arrived, put in my iphone, got a number assigned. Didn't receive any message, however when I login https://www.t-mobile.com/account/promotions , got this note under the new line:
Line Discount ID250259
Enrolled
I believe this free line was added correctly.

For these free lines, can you upgrade your phones and take advantage of T-Mobile promotions: e.g trade-in promotions. If so, how long do I have to wait? I assume they don't let you upgrade right away.
