Called into T-Mobile today because I got a text saying my plan is increasing by $5/line since my older T-Mobile One plan has been the same price for 8 years. The rep told me that there is a targeted offer available to some older plans that started today 3/13/25. Bring your own device and get a free line. I had to pay $10 for a sim card, but they were able to credit me $10 to my account.

Worth a try to call in if you have an older plan. YMMV.

I'm at 11 lines on ONE and did not get the text, but I'm thinking of just adding a line by myself and see what happens. If I don't get the promo in about a week, then will request a "No Install" so they can remove it without charge.

I'm in the same boat but they won't do it. Good luck though let me know how it turns out

Does the promo only show up on the Service Promotions page? Or does it also show up under Account -> Cost Details?
only on service promo page.

I have 6 free lines. Will the $5 price hike apply to those lines? If not then I should try to add another free line.

Found some more info on promo ID250259 from my account data on T-mobile.com. There is more info available, but not really useful to anyone without T-mobile VPN access or code dictionary.

Name: Line Discount ID250259
Start Date: 2025-03-13
End Date: 2025-03-26
Initiation Date: 2025-03-17

So this promotion ends on the 26th. T-mobile also tracks the promotion initiation date, which was the 17th for me (date that the line was created, several days after I ordered the physical SIM).

If you are getting this promotion close to the end date 26th, order with ESIM activation. With physical SIM, you are risking your promotion initiation date starting after the promotion end date. Not sure if the system cares, but it tracks the dates so why risk it. You can always convert your ESIM to physical SIM later.
Very helpful info. Thanks!!

I can't guarantee it of course but I did the same thing fairly recently and didn't lose a single discount even after getting un-enrolled from them.
Thanks a lot .Keep my fingers crossed, hopefully everything goes fine.

My MagMax account also got messed up when I added a free 9th line a few years ago. I was also unenrolled from all promotions. I finally had someone redo my account manually with promotions. I ended up paying less in the process, 96 from 136. Magenta plans were still the flagship plans back then though, i dont know if they will do that for these "outdated" plans now. Just call and follow through.
Thanks much.

yes, if you add a line to this plan, it'll most likely convert it to Magenta. Offshore reps may not know it.
Thanks for the reply...This is why I'm afraid to ever add anything because it probably is not worth it in the end. I'm pretty happy with my $88 (used to be $80) for 3 lines so far (not as good of a deal as others have noted here), but if they keep raising prices then I guess I'll look into jumping to a new plan that can give me more flexibility on free lines and other promos.

I know some of the current plans have some better perks, but it's stuff I don't need so not willing to pay extra for no reason.

I received a text today congratulating me on adding a line with discount. The SIM should arrive today, they waived the $10 fee.
I am on the ONE plan, with 6, now 7 free lines. These are a combination of initial sign up (get 2 lines, get one free) and the past history of offers of free lines over the years.
Now I need to find a phone. The new line says upgrades are available, and there is a T-Mobile promo for a Pixel 8, up to $500 discount with trade-in. However, I cannot see the details of the offer, and I doubt the new line will qualify for discounts. Can anyone see the details of that promotion?

from 2512, mentioned $10 fee
Did you get it? Is it a different promotion ID or just referring to ID250259?

u/MrEdLu [reddit.com] just had their bill posted. Read the thread carefully and completely. ID250259 did not show on their Cost Details page, and still does not after the bill. However, the new bill generated with ID250259 (thread includes screenshot). Additionally, they confirmed that the 2 free line max ceiling is not enforced by T-mobile's billing system.

Deja vu. 4 days ago, this thread, Imsachan was panicking about the exact same thing. As coloradoman_in_socal explained, by unwinding the 9+ plan conversion, you unwound your ~$50 / month savings.

Well put. @HeatGun, if I were you, I would add a line to my plan again, free or not.
Yeah, looks like I missed my chance. I just called again and was told that since I have more than two lines, I don't qualify for this promo. I might try again via T-Force later.

From what I understand from you, the original rep did exactly what they should have done to get me qualified for the free line, moving from 1-8 to 9-12 and adding a free line, except for those five "unenrolled from promo" messages.

They did exactly what was necessary. The messages are part of the process.

What's important to understand for you is that even when you add a paid line you will most likely still look at a lower bill, so don't get too hung up on the free line. Call, ask to open a new line and they will hopefully transfer your account to 9-12 again. If the added line happens to be free on top of that, your savings will be even greater.

Just called the number and was told again that promo only works for the accounts which don't have more than 2 free lines. Not sure what kind of reps you guys get who enable the promo for you with 2+ free lines.

Did anyone add a line through the app and check if promo is added this way?
