Called into T-Mobile today because I got a text saying my plan is increasing by $5/line since my older T-Mobile One plan has been the same price for 8 years. The rep told me that there is a targeted offer available to some older plans that started today 3/13/25. Bring your own device and get a free line. I had to pay $10 for a sim card, but they were able to credit me $10 to my account.

Worth a try to call in if you have an older plan. YMMV.

Did you ever receive a promo enrollment text, or did the promo ever appear on the account?
Quote from Cobra795 :
It doesn't. Just my other line promotion's, not this new one.

I noticed that too and I contacted them as well and they confirmed my line is free.

Neither. They activated the line incredibly quick via an esim and that was it. Rep that did the activation as well as a 2nd rep the following day both promised I'm eligible and it's no concern that the promo isn't showing yet. They said it will all kick in by the 2nd billing cycle and credits will be issued if it takes the whole 2 cycles.

In half wondering if I should get back on with t-force and push the issue or just wait it out.

The two cycles is typical BS. After a yes-no-yes-no-yes, I added this free line and ordered the physical SIM. The next day, I received a promo enrollment text, and the new free line was reflected on the account. Yesterday, I changed the number, and the promo disappeared momentarily online and is showing back again.

Think I should get back on chat before my cycle closes? It closes april 3rd.

Wait, are you saying free line also has kickback? I only get kb on my 4 original lines, all other lines they never added including the BOGO. BTW, I got 3 LOU, 1 Bogo, & just recent BYOD.
Correct. Earlier in this thread it was mentioned some of us get kb on all lines, free and paid. I thought I had read here or somewhere there was a limit on total kb $ or lines #...trying to track that down before raising a fuss.

edit: TForce on X saying cannot add One Plus Promo to new lines, nor Kickback.

Looks like if your account already has a BYOD Free Line, this offer is not eligible.

T-life Chat Rep:
"As you are already receiving a one-line discount, this additional discount will not be applicable to your account."

I have one free line and qualified for another.

To those who got one of these free lines.. what happens if/when T-Mobile does another rate hike per line? Will they tack on another $5/mo for this free line if they increase the monthly price per line by $5 down the road?

Why are they willing to just give out free lines otherwise?

I asked them that question. The free lines will not be charged at all. It's only the paid lines.

It was a hit or miss even many years ago finding a Rep willing to add them to your new lines (paid or free) Most would claim that the ONE plan was not offered anymore.

If you have the time might be worthwhile doing. Definitely be prepared to have your plan changed to "Essentials Military". I've read on reddit that this happened to multiple people who had SWAC plans. With that said, given the ease that T-Force was able to revert my lines back, it doesn't seem like if your plan changed, they can't change it back. So worst case is you end up spending an hour or two max to fix this after Sales team screw it up.
I am on SWAC/Advantage Unlimited. They gave me an extra line. They sent a SIM. When I went to activate it, I noticed it was an essentials plan rather than another AU plan. I called and was told I had to switch plans to get the free line. They wanted another $60 per month for the "free line", missing that they would have let me add another AU line for much less. I canceled the extra line. It took a while but they restored all the lines to AU.

Well I screenshot the app advertisement I received and also saved the text promotion. I went through this about a year ago with a similar promo. After countless hours with t-force going back and fourth, they finally admitted they fked up and said I didn't qualify. They credited me a one time credit covering a whole year of service for the alleged free line. I still use that line as we gave it to a family member. I'm positive I'm about to go through the same exact thing, but we'll see.
I called today and asked information about my "new" line. I did not mention anything about the free line or promotion. But I guess on the notes in my account she said the promotion will be added the next billing cycle (in about 2 weeks for me).

Moreover, she said there was a credit that will be applied to my account because the system will pro-rate the days I had this line open to make it a "free line*.

For now, I will wait until my next billing cycle.

But again, I dont trust them.

I ported a number from another carrier to change the number assigned to the free line. I don't think you can request a specific number outside of porting in. You may be able to request a different area code.
Thanks. I didn't mean a specific number, but a different area code. They assigned another state area code...not sure why.

Better to do it after activation the sim card or before? Or doesn't matter?

Thx. Repped

Received SIM kit, plugged into phone and fired right up. Logged into mytmo and see the code properly reflected in my plan, which was updated from One TI 8 line to 9+ lines perfectly, all promos retained. EXCEPT for the new line...no One Plus Promo, nor Kickback are listed or selectable under line management, like they are for all other lines. I guess I have to chat back on X to get those added. Was there a limit on Kickbacks? Max $? Cheers
Do you have to activate the sim for the promo to stick? Or even if I don't insert the sim in the phone for now, it's all good? Thx
