Called into T-Mobile today because I got a text saying my plan is increasing by $5/line since my older T-Mobile One plan has been the same price for 8 years. The rep told me that there is a targeted offer available to some older plans that started today 3/13/25. Bring your own device and get a free line. I had to pay $10 for a sim card, but they were able to credit me $10 to my account.

Worth a try to call in if you have an older plan. YMMV.

Thanks. I didn't mean a specific number, but a different area code. They assigned another state area code...not sure why.

Better to do it after activation the sim card or before? Or doesn't matter?

Thx. Repped
I don't think it matters if you change your number before or after activating the sim. I personally activated my physical sim first and then ported a different number in. I also switched to an eSIM on a different phone immediately after (pretty much at the same time) I ported in my number.

Is it possible to have two TMO eSIMs on the same phone?

I called today and asked information about my "new" line. I did not mention anything about the free line or promotion. But I guess on the notes in my account she said the promotion will be added the next billing cycle (in about 2 weeks for me).

Moreover, she said there was a credit that will be applied to my account because the system will pro-rate the days I had this line open to make it a "free line*.

For now, I will wait until my next billing cycle.

But again, I dont trust them.

Yeah, I don't trust them the least bit. I definitely love the cell service, it's been fantastic for us around where we live and traveling abroad. That's truly the only reason I maintain a bit of patience.

Yes you can, assuming your phone supports multiple eSIMs

The promotion, IF you qualify for it, is automatically added by the system the moment the line is added. If the line is active and you don't see the promotion on your account, it won't be there in 1-2 billing cycles.

I am on my third day of dealing with CS through the TLife app. Got a "free line" added to my Sprint Advantage Unlimited legacy account on Thursday. Was assured that my plan WOULD NOT change. When my "free line" was activated, my plan changed to Essentials without my knowledge or permission.

Spent Friday dealing with the account change and was able to get it changed back to Advantage Unlimited. Got Apple TV+ and Hulu back (hopefully), but could not get Pandora Premium. Was told it got escalated to a supervisor and to check back Monday. Well, today is Monday, and my billing cycle reset, so come to find out that my "free line" still wasn't free and my normal bill for 2 lines of ~70 was being charged ~110 for 3 lines.

Am still on chat and it's been hours getting this sorted out. Was guaranteed my line is truly free and no changes, but we shall see. And they claim they can't add Pandora Premium anymore, but looking into what other options there are.

Still haven't ported out my son's number yet.

Should have just kept my son on a $7 Tello plan.

How so? I know autopay won't apply past $40, but that should raise your amount due.

It was a hit or miss even many years ago finding a Rep willing to add them to your new lines (paid or free) Most would claim that the ONE plan was not offered anymore.
Still, if all other lines have the promo added, it makes sense to keep all lines equalized with the promo. I don't buy that they 'can't'...just they aren't willing. The system just needs the box checked.

Do you have to activate the sim for the promo to stick? Or even if I don't insert the sim in the phone for now, it's all good? Thx
Negative. The SIM was already dialed in upon arrival, ymmv. I had the number listed on my plan a day or two, ICR, and I finally noticed the promo code on the plan when checking through one of the links in this thread..reposting when I find it..

Thanks. I received the text a day after the line was added. See promo info under promotions in my account as well.

Thanks OP for posting this. Just wrapped up the call with T-Mobile, very easy process as many others have mentioned, all in took 20 minutes, ported a Visible phone number from a while back, to keep as a backup phone.

eSIM was painless on an iPhone 12 Pro (used to be such a hassle - oh how the times have changed!).

I am on a long-term Sprint SERO plan (since HTC Evo 4G WiMax deal - thanks SD lol) which became "T-Mobile Unlimited Savings w/Taxes & Fees Inc" when Sprint was acquired, with 1 free line (before this one) already on it, 7 lines total (8 now). Final bill (this is taxes all included plan) $190 for 8 unlimited lines (no change from 7). Hard to beat even with most MVNOs which are also amazing deals for single/dual lines - $23.75 per line.

Edit: Had to pay $10 activation fee - small price all things considered.

I called and added a line today. Relatively smooth other than the rep initially wanting to send me a sim kit. Got it activated via ESIM on my SE2. Everything looks fine. I got a congrats on your new discount like text in a couple minutes and the t-life app shows no change in my plan. Not sure I really need it yet but it will be my Son's line sooner or later.

Did T-Mobile also tell you they had this promo for your plan last year?

Just curious if anyone with this plan ("2 Lines ONE Plan All In Promo, was $80 for 3 lines, now $90) received 2nd free line ever?
I as many others have stated have this plan with 2 paid 1 free and have NEVER qualified for any other free line offers .. there was a 4 line variant of this plan that certain cs agents were able to switch some customers to . (Prob 5 years ago) but those agents have all apparently died.

Anyway... One thing that's annoyed me for years and now with this increase even more...is when I qualify for kickback on one line (never got to 2) my bill only goes from 80 to 72... I thought it was $10 kickback? I want my $2!

Isn't the $5 for taxes? That's normal.
