I was able to get a price match for the microcenter price this evening even though the closest one was 100 miles away and showing out of stock. This price is lower than the edu pricing and probably the lowest we will see for a while.

Thx OP, I just give it a shot and it worked. I had a $50 certificate and a BestBuy card, but somehow I got a free Best Buy Plus membership out of it too.

I didn't ask for it though I noticed that the Best Buy listing said I would save $50 with the total membership. The total was $799 + tax so I know it took off my $50 reward certificate. The Price Match amount was $199.01 so I take it the agent saw a chance to sell a membership to pad his numbers and somehow applied the extra $50 off to cover it? No clue but I'm glad I could get this for my son in high school

Dang didn't think about that the agent offered me the membership for $50 didn't even cross my mind it would have been free after the $50 off oof o well

Anyone knows how long Microcenters "Save 15% or more on all M4 series Macs - price shown reflects discount" will last? Is it end of March?
(Because I need to place Best Buy order next week, and then do the price match later with Microcenters)

Glad I saw this. Was ready to pick up same computer but M3 tomorrow for $50 less. FYI If you try to buy this deal at Bestbuy its only for the Blue color. If you click another color the deal goes to 1000.00. You can get any color at Microcenter or have Bestbuy match MCs deal

Yes. It's noticeably faster. That said, the M2 is still a great chip that will do everything the vast majority of people need out of a machine like this. So I wouldn't say you need to upgrade unless you're running into performance issues yourself. Also, if you have a base model Air M2, this has double the RAM, which may be bigger performance boost than the chip.
