Got the price match on the 2nd try.
1st try used my actual zip code.
2nd try I used a zip code where there was inventory shown on Microcenter. For the Starlight, 16GB, 256GB 13", there is Duluth, Georgia; Westmont, IL, etc.
Do you live near there or did it not matter if you are in a different state?

i don't live there. i don't think it ultimately matters, but I played along.

created a new Best Buy account and provided them with a new email address and phone number...details they asked and I just didn't want anything linked back to my old best buy account that had my actual address.
then I said I was shipping the laptop to my daughter out in Cali
this allowed the agent to create an invoice which he linked me in the chat. the invoice contained the items I wanted to buy, the shipping address and name of my "daughter" and also the email and phone number that I gave them. you then checkout using that link. I don't know how much of a hoop you need to go through, but those were my steps.

one other thing, find the inventory on Microcenter, and then select that MC that has the inventory. THEN cut and paste the link so when the agent clicks on the link, it shows it as in stock and ready for pick-up

You guys are clear, when you spend all these time on the phone/chat and you are at your 9th or 10th trial this costs you more nerves than you could buy with the 50 or 100 bucks extra you could have paid and bought your laptop from Apple education site? I have had my experience with BB customer service therefor I went direct to the Apple education site and paid 1099 for the 13 inch 512 version. No regrets at all and happy didn't waste my time. Of course it is a gamble and I could have scored one of those deals but I am good.

Just got another one because memory pressure was yellow to red all the time. This time it's a 24gb/512gb model. Both times price matched from the first attempt having MicroCenter 420 miles away and OOS. This time I was able to pay with PayPal to get 5% back with a deal that's available till 3/24.

  1. Select Shippable items as your "store"
  2. Configure the laptop of your choice
  3. Scroll under "Select Your Store" and find one that is it in stock
  4. Select that store
  5. Copy the link
  6. Google search the zip code to that city
  7. Paste that link into your chat
  8. Tell your BestBuy agent the zip code you just looked up.
They will click your link and see it as in stock and your zip code matches up to that store.

You're not our level of greedy. The more money you have the greedier you become.

How did you pay with PayPal? I didn't have that option when I price matched to Best Buy. Just credit card.
I also couldn't pay via paypal, only other option I had was to use ApplePay

How are you able to pay via PayPal? Did you price match to Best buy? There was only the option to input my credit card when I price matched to Best Buy.

I had used a $50 reward (from the BB credit card) after online PM to get the 256GB model for $799, and they also threw in the Best Buy Plus membership for no extra charge...picked the machine up Friday but it's still unopened. Curious if they'd be able to re-process the transaction since the membership was on it.
If we bought the Best Buy plus membership at the same time as the computer, will we get the $25 per 250? You're saying that after the laptop ships to our house, we can bring it to a store and they can re-process?
