I used an Anova Sous Vide machine for almost 10 years with one of their early models. The heating element finally went out after that long, so I'd love to sing the brands praises... but when I went to replace it and did some research it seems the quality and company practices have kind of gone to crap. Lots of reviews with components failing in the first two years on the newer models and the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functionality is now gatekept behind a paid subscription paywall. If you don't plan on using the app (it really isn't necessary if you don't need to control it remotely), this is probably still a good deal at this price, but this brand has taken steps to lower quality and to take built in features that were previously free to use with the purchase and lock them out unless you pay a subscription fee. I'd definitely consider other brands. When I replaced my old reliable Anova I got a 1000watt Inkbird and it has worked great so far for $70 on sale. Again, at this price point, it is probably fine, just preaching caution with the direction the brand has gone.

Is this the same as the $28 Anova Mini Lite? https://slickdeals.net/f/18176929-800w-anova-culinary-sous-vide-precision-cooker-mini-lite-black-28-free-shipping

Anyway, as others have mentioned, you need to use the app with this cooker, and the app frequently disconnects. They paywall most features behind a subscription service. There are complaints about durability.

If you're looking for a sous vide cooker, personally, I would not recommend this one. I have the standard Anova sous vide circulator (the kind with a display and controls on the unit) and I'm very happy with it, but I would not purchase this Mini version.
