you can also port the number out within the first month and the unlock will still go through. once the phone is activated on the included line the only way to potentially interrupt the 60 day unlock timer is by moving the line/eSim to another device on total.

That's not the deal... it's $20 monthly credits over 10 months... on a $60/month plan (w/autopay)-- that's $150 more than what I would pay over that time + $200 = $350 for the phone for me. - plus you have to stay with them for 12 months to keep the credits.

Reading online that TW changed their unlock policy from 60 days from activation to 60 days from first refill date. Can anyone confirm?

For all cellphones Activated with TracFone service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically, sixty (60) days after Activation.

Total Wireless logo is still on that page.

thats like saying its $199+$64 delivery……no you cant get the phone for $199

So if the phone is $0 and the plan is $264….its a Free iphone presumably….or not

No-one is buying this phone for the plan
Except…the plan has value, to I'd wager almost everyone, albeit variable.

Is it worth $64.01? Debatable and subjective.

Perhaps to some, likely not to most. The actual "cost" of the phone, then, exists somewhere on the continuum between $199.99 and $264.

People buy mobile phones to use…mobile…which, requires a plan…that costs money.

It's sold as a package and has to be assessed as one, on a case by case basis.

Nevermind, I selected the wrong plan. Also do we have to port out our Google voice number? Or can we just leave it as is and it will unlock after 60 days?

Well, you're going to have to activate it somehow.

Why would you keep paying $60 a month then ?

Okay so when I get the phone I need to just activate it and then turn off auto pay and then I'll have to just leave it in the drawer and wait 60 days right?
