Is it suitable for Dallas, TX area? Lawn care noob here.

My lawn is 90% weed so I'm looking for something that can win the battle.

Fescue is typically a cool season grass. You might be okay if you have a shady lawn and run sprinklers. There are other varieties like: Texas bluegrass, buffalo grass, bermuda grass, etc. that are more heat/drought tolerant. The best time to start a new lawn is in the fall.

+1 to charge's comment. Recommend using warm season grass. Though you might get selection overload I recommend these two sites for sod quality grass seeds, usually 100% weed free vs 99.9: unitedseeds.com and twincityseed.com .

At 90% weed lawn grass is probably not going to win, they'll need to be killed off first before planting.

What's is recommended for dense shade? Specifically under big maple trees. All the grass i had there has died off.

Not a good product that contains 51% inert matter. This is a 50 lb bag with only 25 lbs of seed.

Where do you see the inert matter content?

If you're in the cool season zone, from what I read, use a mix of different fine fescues for example: https://twincityseed.com/product/...d-mixture/

I may be incorrect but the coating is not inert, but yes you are only getting 50% seed. Personally I have horrible luck with coated seed.

Says 3% inert matter. Where are you getting 50%?
