If you mean Double Edge by DE, I agree that is cheaper, but I have not been able to shave with DE without cutting myself and I have a very good adjustable handle for the DE razors. So, what's the secret?

It's been more than 6 ot 7 years since I started wearing a full beard now; wanted to age gracefully Smilie Before that, I used to shave clean.
So after using those Gillette one blade, two blade, three blade, five blade, 10 blade, not sure, I gave up because it was too expensive.
Thanks to SD, there was extensive- I mean seriously massive discussion happening on this forum where people swear by how cheap and good the DE blade shaving is and how good it is for skin and all, so some 10 or 12 years back, I switched to wet shaving with DE blade.
I cut myself so many times initially, tried many blades and handles.
Finally, I settled on a Feather DE Blade from Japan. The Japanese know how to make a sharp blade, and it was still my favorite. Also, after trying several handles, I settled on the Merkur Handle. After the initial cost of the Blades, BTW was very cheap, but Handle was a bit expensive. Still, overall, I used wet shaving with DE blade for almost 10 years and it save me not only tons of money, but, boy, every time I look forward to shaving like a morning ritual, it was fun, I have a good setup of Blade, Handle holder, lather and brush. You need to get used and then you will enjoy DE shaving a lot. Believe your skin with thank you later.
Also, once you go wet shaving with DE you won't go back to Gillette again.

I got these on Black Friday and regret the purchase. Unless you shave daily the blades get totally jammed with hair, and unlike the Dorco five blade system I was using before these, these ones are super difficult to clean the hairs out no matter which angles I put it under the running water, or how I tap/bang it on the basin. I'm tempted to call it a loss and just reorder more of my Dorcos.

Switch to a DE razor, you won't regret it. And it's a lot cheaper than this "deal".
What's DE?

A Diverse and Equitable razor. It's good for all hair types and shaves them all equally well. Big Grin

Seriously though … Double Edge safety razor. It uses individual blades attached to a handle instead of a cartridge setup.

Does the DE rabbit hole lead to the straight razor? 😁

I'm not impressed by the reviews here. Gillette blades can be had for less than a buck each if you set up a deal alert. Walgreens had Mach 3 last week:

Do yourself a favor, use only Gillette (to protect your skin), nothing else, all other junks - use only for pubic hair, arm pits, arms, legs, chest.

TL : DR: Some bearded dude visited Japan and found a razor he really likes and looked forward to shaving everyday and his skin thanked him.
Feather Blades are available in the US.

Dorco blades are still around. It's just that they stopped selling direct to consumer and now sell through resellers so their fantastic intro / promo deals pretty much disappeared. They're not really cheap any more but here are some Dorco blades on Amazon … https://www.amazon.com/stores/nod...-bin=DORCO
I think they were sued by Gillette and other companies. They are out of South Korea and withdrew from the US market. I think the resellers are selling left over inventory on amazon. The Pace 6 was a razor. I still have a new blade.

I made the switch to these after receiving some counterfeit Gillette's on Amazon. At first I thought Gillette had switched factories or something, but later I read about the Counterfeit problem on Amazon with Gillette razor refills. I mean who fakes RAZOR refills.

Made the Change to Amazon basic 5 blades and have never looked back.

Don't you find that when you shave with mutli blades that a mixture of cut hairs and shaving cream get jammed inbetween the blades and prevent any more use. Of course I then try to wash out the hairs with a running water faucet but the hair remain jammed in the razor.

DE or Safety Razors are basically a double edge razor blade on a stick. I used one for years and finally got fed up with the inconsistent quality of blades. Japanese brands tended to be the most reliable, however also the most expensive. If you use the china brands, your face is gonna get sliced up. I am now going back in b/w the two, disposble and DE razors. the 3 blade disposable razors are the best for travel and when you want quick and easy shaves. The DE's, when you have good blades, take more time but can be just as good. But from what I have experienced in 40 years, the 3 blade razors are the best things out on the market. DEs save you money but only if your face isnt all cut up and you got a good deal on the DE blades.

I just got these and they are more than adequate for my needs.
I shave daily, and if you have strong pressure option from water the hair comes out as long as you don't use shaving cream then it gets a bit messier.
The whole package will likely last me at least a year because one blade generally lasts me 3-5 weeks. Guess I need a year to give a full update.

I just got these. Used them and the blades keep tugging on my hair like it's pulling them instead of cutting them. And the gel thing comes on too strong where it actually glue the tiny hair down to the skin and the blades can't reach. I don't think having 5 blades made it better. Hurts to use.

For 4-5 blades razor I only stay with Gillette and Schick. Tried everything and for me only these brands work.

Have the same setup, Merkur with Feather. The feather blade definitely took some getting used to. Cut the hell out of my face at first with the feather. But man, those blades are the best I've used.
