Pizza is not free. It is actually $5. Last deal was for $20. These things keep going up..

His point was that since this deal is $5 more than the last deal but includes a pizza, you are technically paying $5 for the pizza.

For the past year or two, memberships are pretty regularly $20, so I think it's fair to compare against previous deals to know whether this is a good price or not.

In previous years they were free or money makers - eg the "Join for $45, get a $45 gift card" stacked with a $25 AMEX credit offers - which haven't been around for a few years now and probably aren't coming back.

The groupon link says old members are eligible if their membership expired over 6 months ago. Has it worked for anyone?

I just did it, my membership was expired for 6 months on 4/16/25 went to the Groupon link in the thread purchased the membership for $25. They send you an electronic voucher that I used online but at first Sam's club using all the same account information from my expired account I was logged into gave me the option to "Renew" or "Create a new membership", I selected renew and it did not work, so I went back and created a new membership and no issues. I just have to go to the customer service desk to get a new card as it is a different membership number.
