I can't comment on this specific TV but I did buy an Insignia Fire TV in 2019 that didn't have many reviews. It has has several issues including really bad issues with how the audio is processed. It seems like something that should be fixable with a firmware update and they definitely know about it.

VA.

If you're looking for a Cheap IPS Toshiba C350 series is the only one I've seen. Best Buy sells it, and it is also a Fire OS. I bought a 75" C350 for $449. Surprisingly good for a cheap TV with great viewing angles, but 75" was too big for my room and the HDR content was not so great. I decided to go OLED for my living room/main TV, but the C350 was seriously better and different other cheap screens I've owned. The only true visual negative was a slightly brighter outside edge (about 1" all the way around) that you could see on dark screens. It wasn't that bad, but it was there. Also, I hate Fire as well.

The 43" Toshiba C350 makes a fine PC monitor (if not a gamer). The backlighting is more consistent compared to most other inexpensive 43" sets.

I generally stay away from Fire TV, had one (altho a cheap $100 one) it was super slow and glitchy. Navigation felt clunky

always get an external streaming stick -- better performance, often has more features. (roku, google tv)

Thank you for this, it's helpful for me.

How do you think the Toshiba C350 compares against the TCL Q6 series (43")? Been looking at a 43 inch TV to use as a monitor (for productivity not gaming)

Since the TCL is a VA I would go with the Toshiba C350 for computer use. I use mine for productivity, streaming, and general surfing and it's great for that. I find it far brighter, handles reflections, and has better color than my previous ONN 43". I don't think you can go wrong with it for that purpose. In fact, I'm thinking about buying a second as a backup. I got mine for $149 but even at $179.99 it's a good deal considering what I've paid for monitors in the past. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tosh...Id=6560922

My Hisense blows other TVs out of the water in it's price range and I have never had an issue. All OS seem to be laggy, thus the external streaming device.

Got mine at the beginning of the pandemic, it's not great, but still chugging along. Not bad for $100 for a 32".

My Hisense U8G is 3 years old and has a noticeable dimming rectangle at the bottom of the screen that will start to flicker from time to time. I have a vizio 3 tcl element and sony all significantly older with zero issues. I won't buy a hisense again as this was the most expensive of all of them
