Every AC device sold in the US has a voltage + wattage and/or amperage label attached to it. If people can't do simple math when using electricity then maybe they should stay away from it for their own safety. Thankfully Walmart idiot-proofed this cord with a circuit breaker.

But, if you need to bring power somewhere temporarily, say, in the driveway/yard/etc, having to try to neatly roll up that 25' cord again without it becoming a tangled mess of nightmares, and then getting it to actually stay that way after you store it wherever you keep it, is a fairly Herculean task, and most people just end up with a giant, twisted and hard to store ball of cable instead.
I have a number of long extension cords, and eventually ended up getting a cord reel for each one - if I were to do it all over again, I would definitely buy ones like this, already built into a reel with a retraction function. For some uses, you obviously want the outlet end to be the part that extends out, rather than the plug, but still... It's like the difference between a bare roll of measuring tape, and the retractable kind. Each has its use.
Regardless, I wouldn't buy this one, since it's only 16AWG, and this is the kind of extension cable I would put a heavy load on.
... maybe I'll use it as a light switch?
