Bought cerulean smoke last month. Absolutely gorgeous and worth every penny.
Wow. Paid 550 a few months back on sale. This is worth it
Deals on Gretsches have been absolutely insane recently, this is an amazingly well made guitar. Paid $499 for mine 3 months ago, it was still a great deal.

IMO the Streamliner series (cheaper and made in Indonesia) is consistently better than the Chinese Electromatics. Zero issues with fretwork on my Streamliners, but my Jets have sharp edges.

This is just the latest in a series of fairly frequent deals. This is a good deal IF you like the color and shape and really want a Bigsby. Otherwise, don't impulse buy, wait for one you like more.

A little over a month ago, I paid $499 for the Mariana green quilted top, also from Adorama, but part of me wanted the Single Barrel Burst. I can't complain, though. The Mariana green is gorgeous, and the guitar is perfect.
These prices are getting ridiculous. Whoever is on the verge: For $399, you have to get it.

How is the quality of the guitar? Any issues of the guitar?

Not for me. The quality control for mine was great. There were no sharp frets, no issues with the fingerboard, and the body was also in perfect condition. It came in a double box and it was brand new. I'm no gigging musician and can't say I've played 100s of different guitars in my life. I have other guitars at home and I just play for myself, and for me the quality was amazing. If you're thinking about it, I'd say go for it.

Does it need a setup or kind of OK out of the box ?
Very hit or miss. I got a Streamliner on one of these sales that the frets were abhorrent. Had to do a insane amount of fret leveling to get them even close to right. I might save the thing and use it as my first try at a re-fret, lol. That said, I have several others that I haven't played yet and assume there's no way they could all be in that situation.

I paid the same, and was already mad when they went to $449. Now I just feel downright foolish.

They are probably not allowed to publicly advertise a low price by Fender/Gretsch. After all the Gretsch website has the same guitar for $900.

Slick, not a particularly versatile guitar. Hot pickups more suited for rock. Fender-shaped neck with a lot of paint and varnish on the back; many prefer a minimalist wood finish neck. Technically you can play anything on anything I guess. I would want one of these for a rockabilly / shoegaze beginner/intermediate, but if you're more into jazz (there are tens of us) lean all the way into an archtop instead.

What a deal! After going back n forth to Adorama looking at this deal, for atleast a week, I finally had to pull the trigger. An Gretsch in amethyst is not an easy find for this price..so ring it up!!

First impressions are very good. Got the Barrel Burst. Set up nicely, action is set just the way I like it (not too low). Haven't spent too much time but may have to adjust pickup heights but already thinking of swapping in filtertrons. They are definitely darker/fuller sounding than expected... My first foray into Gretsch, FWIW.

I typically play S/T style guitars (everything from Squiers to Suhrs). Don't agree with the comment that these are beginner guitars... There's absolutely nothing wrong with getting a mid range guitar to round out your collection. I think part of the perception might be due to the fact that Fender seems to have poured a ton of money into marketing these (YT videos), but that in no way affects build quality, playability, etc.
