Look at the pictures and the reviews. It'll help you understand what this is for.
At this price, I may as well buy another for backup.
This something you would use to permantly wire something up and then bring an extension cord to it. Like a vehicle or movable work bench

There are metal hole bits.
If your van is a Ford Transit, there is a way to have this installed without any drilling, using this kind of box: https://faroutride.com/product/sh...-d-pillar/
I also just mounted one of these to easily run my car refrigerators inside the car when I have 120v power nearby without having to run an extension cord through a door or window.
You can use a hole saw that electrians use, made for metal such as the Milwaukee hole saws. Also, after you drill the hole, clean up the edge of the hole with a rat tail file and paint the bare metal edge with some rust preventing paint. Rustoleom paint works very well.
Not sure how that works without putting a hole through, unless you run it through an existing hole.
When you install this, protect the bare metal after cutting, use butyl tape, and I suggest Sikaflex around the seams. Silicone wears out and it can leave a terrible residue on the paint.
I'll probably put an entry on my RV or anything other than an actual car or truck to run wires through, whether it's electrical like 110V or solar wiring for my power station.
That's pretty slick, but I have a Mercedes Sprinter. Thank you.
