Unfortunately you must sign up for direct deposit. Transfers from another bank don't count.
DoctorOfCredit maintains an extensive list of various methods that banks treat as direct deposit: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/kn...an_Express

Many data points indicating push from Fidelity codes as DD. Be sure to log into Fidelity and push the funds to Amex -- not log into Amex and pull from Fidelity.
Think of it this way... If you make $25/hr it's like getting 10 hours of work for free without having to work and doing only minimal effort to receive the bonus. If that doesn't sound good to you then I don't know what to tell you.

How do the Amex debt cards work? Only merchants that could accept Amex? That may be limited like a CC then…

Let us know if you get it because the terms clearly say you can't get a bonus again.

They're not going to send you a 1099 for $250.

You might be thinking 1099-K for eBay sales with the $600 threshold. For bank bonuses you WILL get a 1099-INT no matter the amount.

You may see the bonus listed but you do not qualify

You are not eligible for the Welcome Bonus if you have an existing or previously have had a Rewards Checking Account

In my experience, it's not 100% but pretty much like 98% that you will get a 1099. I did a $400 sign up bonus with PNC last year and they didn't send me one and I couldn't log into my account to see if it was there since I closed my account. Of course you still need to report it even if you didn't get one.

same requirements but $400 at truist. i would go with truist first. if you still have a job the next 90 days. switch auto deposits to this amex.
Truist is only available in the following states: AL, AR, FL, GA, IN, KY, MD, MS, NC, NJ, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WV or DC. All states seem to qualify for the Amex SUB.

eBay payments are ACH payments correct? Last time I think it was Chase said they were not eligible when I was getting an account. Does anyone know if it works with Amex?

same people who say:

"I don't want a raise because that means I'll pay more taxes"

No shit you'll pay more taxes when you make MORE money... HR/corporate finance types love this one trick!

Probably refuses raises because it'll put them in a higher tax bracket, and raising their taxes.

Anything above $10 in interest or bonus annually require banks to issue 1099-INT.

Edit: Meant to say 1099-INT
