There are different types of Rails for motors, so all depending what you have, but the angle iron or back hangs for the motor might not work, you might also need to change the bracket above the center pad for the spring and opener arm bracket thats connected to the top panel.
A few years back I installed one (first time) and it took me roughly 1.5 hours. After that, approx 45 min to an hour for others I have installed. Costco version appears to have a better light on motor housing and video keypad as primary differences

The exact opposite of what you said. If the door will not go up the spring needs more tension to counteract the weight of the door. The weight should be about neutralized by spring tension.

Have been using a Meross smart attachment to my decades old opener for about 5 years now. No subscription past 35 dollar device charge. Can even ask Google to "close my garage" and it does. Routines and timed closing etc included. Best $35 ever spent.

Thank you for the reply.
The smart features I like are the ability to check if the garage is open or closed on my phone, and to open and close it from my phone. I have 2 events set up - if it's open for more than 2 hours I get an alert, and if it's open at 9pm I have it close it. A few times prior to doing that I've woken up to an open garage door because someone forgot to close it. Luckily nothing was missing.

I think that would be subjective based on your track and wheels condition.
