Just ordered one. My son wanted a 9a but paying an extra 50 for the real 9 is a no brainer esp since the 9a is using the old modem not the new ones the other 9 series use. Note I have been using a 9 pro xl and had upgraded from the 8 Pro due to a trade in that was too good to ignore and I like my 9 series MUCH more. None of the connectivity problems I had with 6-8 series. So I was a bit worried about the modem downgrade in the 9a for my son. Now I dont have to.

The Warranty is always based on the IMEI.
I've NEVER heard of Google denying the warranty claim or asking for proof of purchase.
Also you can ask the seller where they got the phone from. While getting warranty coverage with Google, you can always say it was from BestBuy, Amazon or any authorized retailed. I don't believe they ever ask for invoice.
Also the warranty is transferrable to whoever uses the phone.
I had to warranty at pixel 6 and a pixel 6 pro Google required proof of purchase for both. Lol ymmv I guess. Motorola is the only company I've ever used that didn't go by proof of purchase just activation date.

That really isn't the case anymore motorola edge 2024 and the moto g stylus is a better phone to me than my s24 ultra from Samsung at least I can take pictures of my kids without them being blurry. The pixel line isn't worth the price and I have a pixel 9 pro XL but the got it for 400 dollars. Motorola has drastically improved even their lower tier phone are pretty decent. Samsung does have a better UI but Motorola has put their dex on most of their devices and it works better than Samsungs in my opinion. I will not buy another Samsung because like Apple they are over priced in the premium category due to the lack of real competition in the USA.
Totally concur. The moto edge 2024 is surprisingly good. I have a pixel 9 pro XL which is my daily driver. However, once using the Moto edge 2024 as a second phone, I almost prefer the Moto despite it being less than half the price.

Even though the Moto edge is running Android 14 and on the pixel I have Android 16 beta, Moto still shines despite the software disadvantage.

I think all these companies are just coaxing us to pay very high prices for all these premium phones when the fact is that a mid-range phone would would suffice very well for most people.

The Pixel 9 @ $550 is a good deal for a smart phone that checks all the boxes.

Could consider the Samsung.com certified renewed Samsung S23 (new battery, like new condition) for $319 when trading any smartphone. Very happy with the purchase in a previous deal and the processor is better than the Pixel 9's even though its 2 years old. Only 3 more years of updates though. Will probably be cheaper soon when Samsung starts selling renewed S24s.
Thanks for this. Waiting for the 256gb version to come back into stock and then I'm trading in an iPhone 5S.

They... offer $300 for "other iphone" that isn't on the list. The list only goes down to iphone 6. Figure... 'other iphone' must clearly be for one rung down right? 5S baby.

Mint had this for $399. I still refused to buy. Google hardware is so bad. It's sad US consumers have few choices when it comes to phones. You only have apple or Samsung. Others including google, motorola are just junk.
I am on Pixel 7 currently from the day it was released.
Before that, Pixel 3.

Never had any problem with Pixel (google) phone.

I have the S23 and the Pixel 9 Pro. The Pixel's camera is significantly better.

You're the world's worst phone photographer, I'm sorry. If you're getting blurry pics from a S24 Ultra or Pixel 9 Pro XL it's you (I too have both). Why i don't have the Motorola it was my goto phone brand for years and they have a decent camera outside, but I can say with confidence it won't hold up to a S24 Ultra or Pixel 9 Pro XL. That's just silly talk.

The specs on the Edge 2024 are very mid tier along with everything else, it's a mid tier $500-$600 phone. Motorola is famous for 2 years of updates if you're lucky so prepare to update mid 2026 if that's important to you.

I'm glad the phone works for you, but price aside, 99% of the public is picking that phone last out of the 3 you've named in every phone category.

µimmediate updates from Google for years to come.
they are on track to be broken up. DOJ has found them to be a monopoly already.
They're trying to bribe the current admin to get out of the judgement.

Really great deal given the 9a isnt coming until sometime in April and the red card discount basically gets it down to that price
If you're waiting for the 9a, you may want to consider this deal instead. 9a has the shitty 5300 modem and optical fingerprint reader. Also the cameras should be better on the 9.

Swappa is safe to buy from. Just saying there are other options if you want to save every buck possible.
You say that like it's a blanket fact when that's completely false. I use swappa and only buy from those with lots of transactions and feedback. Swappa does nothing to protect you if the seller/original owner reports the phone stolen 3+ months down the line for an insurance claim. Their IMEI checker cannot account for insurance protection. Swappa won't get involved and will not refund you. Ask me how I know.

Motorola and Google are not on the same level, speaking as someone who has the G Power 2024 and Pixel 9. I know they are vastly different price tiers but the difference in experience matches the price difference.

That is all I need to know to inform me that this is a troll comment.

There are thousands of 8a users that have no issues with the 5300 modem or the optical fingerprint reader. The bad experience of a few doesn't represent the overall experience for the majority.

I will have to disagree. Not sure if the 8a had an upgraded one from the 7, but if it did not then this fp sensor will suck. The 9 is almost instant and far more accurate. Even with all 5 set to my right thumb I still had issues with the 7 and had to reset them.

Do you know Tensor G4 is a 2022 level chip, on par with Snapdragon 8 Gen1? Snapdragon is now at Gen4. Google is selling 2022 hardware in 2025, what a disgrace.
