Hearing TP link / Tapo products to be banned. Any thoughts on longevity ?
It's unlikely to happen with any of the smart devices, which really are second to none in terms of features and quality. The real threat is against the routers, but even then it's unlikely considering how many consumers it would negatively impact here in the states. But I wouldn't worry at all about any of the smart devices being impacted.
Recently switched from Wyze ecosystem completely over to Tapo. Super happy with the move. Bought a bunch of Tapo cameras and sensors, 10 cameras and 16 sensors/hub in all because of the sales and 20% Amazon Prime CC cashback. Of all the cameras, this one is my favorite! Highest build quality feels out of all. While it can't tilt and pan, it has the best image quality and very wide angle (I think the widest of the stationary cams). The best part is the magnetic mount. Super strong and the back of the camera rotate and stay in place perfectly without needing to fiddle with the screws and tension/tightness. You can mount this anywhere that a magnet can stick on (mine is mounted at the corner of an intake vent).
A couple of other nice things: 1) you can record on the SD card or to the Tapo H200 Hub; 2) You can connect a solar panel to charge it outdoors. The downside is that it's a micro-USB port and the port as at the bottom of the camera so it's a bit awkward, though can shield the port better from rain and snow.
Picked one of these up a few weeks ago when the total price after the Prime discount was $37. Incredible. It has been up and operating now for almost three weeks and the battery has only dropped to 97%. We use it constantly. We put in a micro SD card and are paying no cloud storage. It works brilliantly. Solidly made and foolproof installation. Already convinced a few others to buy. This is a really great camera and an insanely low price.

You sure you got exactly this model for $37 after prime discount? I am deciding whether to pull the trigger on this price or should wait until the price drops further like you said.
This is the one Tapo product I've had that's been a disappointment. Poor battery life and slow response time. During a cold snap it stopped working and I haven't been able to reset it or get it back functional.

Yes, it was onsite for $50 with 20% additional Prime rebate PLUS the usual 5%. Came to $37.49 if I recall if you include the rebate that you get back at the end of the statement period.

Same. Returning 2. Poor connection compared to other Tapo cameras

The Prime Card 25% bonus is currently available for this camera (well, until March 31 aka tonight, though the offer may get renewed again in April).
