As far as investments, the one big knock on FTUSA (and basically all software besides TT/HRB) is that it doesn't import 1099s from brokerages. You can mitigate this issue by reporting consolidated short and long term capital gains rather than every single trade. This is already done for you on your 1099 form and the IRS gets the full 1099 with all the details anyway.

And yes, it imports from H&R Block or TurboTax PDF (or other software PDF).
