My phone is Edge 2024. It didn't heat up when I used it as a hotspot. Didn't it heat up when you used it with Smart Connect?
Not that I have noticed, and was doing it just about every day. However, I bought 3 of the genuine Motorola adapters off eBay, and one of those cables did get pretty hot while using it. The others were fine. They were all from the same seller and listed as new other, open box. I also bought one of the cheap Chinese adapters. That one didn't allow for power to be connected. It had another USB-C port, but would just keep connecting and disconnecting the video when I plugged power into that port.

Can you still port in a Google voice number?
My GV number was accepted during the phone number check.

I got this phone from the prior deals twice. Once from ST and once from TW. Absolutely great for the money!

Quick note. On ST when texted UNLOCK to customer support, it would tell me the date of unlock. On Total it just sends a link to the policy, no date.

I got a number from Numberbarn. I did the port out. I didn't have it in park, just paid the $5 for port out. The internet works, I can call and text out. But I can't receive texts or calls. When I call it, it has a message about the number parked at Numberbarn. Is this because I need to pay for park and get some kind of text? It never said it needed to text it. Is it activated? Totalwireless doesn't show that a device needs to be activated. It looks like I could order another device for the $30. Just don't want to have a $55 device that won't unlock in 2 months.

I don't know about Numberbarn, but with a Google Voice that has not been COMPLETELY ported to Total yet, the phone can make calls and texts, but incoming calls and texts still go to GV. It is resolved when GV releases the phone number after a few days. This problem happened very often when Metro was still accepting GV for port-in and we had to call Metro to ask them to "push through" the port-in to complete it. Give it a few days, then contact Numberbarn or Total if it's not resolved.

Someone in the past deals did that without problems, but there's always the risk that TW MIGHT say later that you didn't fulfill the terms and charge your credit card for the full undiscounted price. Your decision.

*edit

I just ordered a 2nd one on my TW account. I had to do the verification again . This time it was $55 all in. Last time I paid $81 (they had taxed me in NJ). Weird.

Reps to who can tell me the best way to get a new phone number to port in for this deal.I don't plan on using the phone for actual cell service, so unlocking is not necessary. I just want a decent android device to use. Thanks in advance!Update: I ordered a number for $5 from numberbarn, enabled SMS on it, then was able to port it to order this Motorola Edge for free + $55 the plan. Thanks FabulousStranger526!
Is it same as Google voice $3 ?

How many days between your 1st and 2nd orders? Last year, I went 10 days between the 1st and 2nd orders without having to reverify. But with my wife's account she waited 14 days and had to reverify.

It's been over 2 months. The verification went pretty smoothly.
