Just a heads up, the Switch cartridge only has MG1 and MG2 on it, everything else you need to download after inserting the cartridge. MGS 1,2,3 are not playable without downloading them.

This might be well known by now but I just want to make sure people are aware, especially collectors that want a usable copy once they shut down their online service..

Just a heads up, the Switch cartridge only has MG1 and MG2 on it, everything else you need to download after inserting the cartridge. MGS 1,2,3 are not playable without downloading them.

This might be well known by now but I just want to make sure people are aware, especially collectors that want a usable copy once they shut down their online service..

Nope, I don't think they're remasters. Part 3 will have a true remaster/remake released in a few months called MGS Delta.

2 and 3 are remastered. 1 and the older titles are not. They're built on the remasters that were released in 2011, but they have been slightly upgraded (at least on PS5, Xbox and PC). Specifically, they have a higher resolution and more stable 60fps frame rate. They even received a new update a few weeks ago that improved them further. They are not remakes, like MGS Delta releasing later this year, but they are much improved visually over the PS2 originals.

I whole-heartedly vouch for these games (look at my avatar Wink). So amazing all 3. I do not have a PS5 though, so I cannot share personal experience for THIS version. But we have the xbox version of this and it was/is great.

That's a big if. I don't see Nintendo shutting down their online services. It's pretty minimal overhead once the shops are in archive mode.
