I've had this same unit for 2 years now. Always worked flawlessly and range is good. Have a large brick house and it reaches all the way to back bedroom and all the way to the end of my driveway. I have a security camera at the end of our driveway that picks up my wifi easily. I'm a gamer and it has great speeds with my 1 gig broadband and the app controls are amazing for setting up guest accounts or limiting internet time for kids.
It's not that small, pic just doesn't give you the depth. Then again it works, so who cares how big it is

Great router, i paid $200 for it and it was worth it. Very nice app to go with it and I never have issues. Covering about 2000 sq ft and ~30 devices. Have it scheduled in the app to reboot every Sunday cause why not

I have a Unifi setup. It works OK, but Unifi considers themselves to be making devices 'for professional installers' and is very end user hostile, as are the people who frequent their forums. If you need actual help with configuration or some feature, you're screwed. Every question I asked there was answered with "You know this is a professional product to be installed by IT Pros, right?" That was always the answer I got.

I still have the system, but I despise the company and their attitude and that of their users on their forum. I'm constantly searching for a good mesh system to replace it.
I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience though I thank you for sharing.

Anyone using this thing's mesh feature with a cell phone running on wi-fi? If so, can you wander from access point to access point without dropping the call?It amazes me that we're this far into mesh technology and not a single router manufacturer is willing to give a clear answer to that question.More generic question: Anyone using a mesh system that doesn't drop wi-fi cell calls under that scenario?
I am using AIMESH. The primary node is an RT-AX86U. The 2 mesh nodes are old RT-AC68U. Handoff works fine between nodes. VOIP calls do not drop.

FWIW, I did have dropped calls before I went to AIMESH and had the 2 RT-AC68Us configured as access points. Was never able to get a seamless handoff until I reconfigured things to use AIMESH.

Note: I am using Merin firmware.
