I have no idea if this laptop has the same display but I recently purchased a very similar model Lenovo laptop (Intel instead of AMD) and the display is absolute garbage (TN 6-bit). I'm talking the mouse cursor literally disappears with movement because of its poor color rendering and it gave me headaches to look at for any length of time. This reminded me of what would have been expected from a very early, cheap LCD display and it is amazing that something so terrible would be placed in a modern product. Since I scored my laptop very cheaply on a clearance deal I bit the bullet and replaced the panel with an IPS model (~$60 and rather easy to do), which made an enormous improvement on the laptop's usability.

How do you determine a compatible screen? I always thought that the monitor was pretty set with the laptop it came with (e.g. size, bezel, where the connector runs, screen interface).

I went into the Lenovo parts page, allowed it to detect my system, then pulled the model # from the replacement screen they were selling. I then did searches on eBay and Amazon using that model # looking for a compatible IPS panel.

If you have never done a panel swap before be sure to watch several YouTube videos of it being done before attempting it.

Be warned, be gentle removing the bezel around the display because it is quite fragile and could easily be broken. There are also 3 screws at the bottom of the bezel that can.only be accessed by removing the hinge cover, which can also be broken if not taking it easy.
