For those of you who are interested in Samsung OLED tvs, my S90c suddenly died on me exactly 15 months after buying it on black friday 2023. The Samsung care+ warranty saved me from losing out on $2k but customer support is a headache to deal with since they all say the same scripting and just xfer you all over the place. TV tech that came to look at the tv told me that Samsung OLEDS break down the most. I'll probably be sticking with LG or Sony from now on.

If I didnt have the warranty, I'd be SOL since the tech said they dont make the panels anymore so there's no way to fix the tv.

I'm a TV addict. I've bought all kinds of TVs over the past two decades. Guess what was the ONLY one to break. I mean break. EVER. After one year. The SAMSUNG. Nice looking TV, it's a shame, but it broke. Almost reached the one year mark where I couldn't fix it. I sold it and got rid of it. Samsung phones always break or have USB-C issues too. I stay away from Samsung as much as possible now. They have posters online who lie and tell you it isn't a problem, trying to gaslight you. I'm sick of it. You ask people IRL or overhear conversations, and you will hear this a lot too.

I actually sold a Philips 39 inch TV, probably about 14 or so years ago. I found it in a bar, still working and as good as new. Had to be playing continuously. It's a weird TV, I bought it online, I'm PRETTY sure it was mine, somehow it ended up there. Very distinctive design, not even sure it was sold local. Even if it wasn't, that's still quality.

Did you get the max warranty. So total around $1500? I take it no issues so far
I got the 5-year geek squad warranty that covers everything. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the cost of the warranty is tied directly to the total replacement cost of the TV. So, the larger the sale on the TV, the cheaper the warranty.

So, I actually think the total cost was more like $1200. The TV was $1000, and the 5-year warranty got prorated down to about $200 instead of $300 or so.

PSA - BuyDig just told me they don't actually have this TV in stock (despite taking payment from my credit card on Friday after I brought this from the eBay auction).

Are they going to refund or make you wait?

They are asking to wait until they get back in stock, but have no eta. Debating whether I just insist on a refund.

I've not been a big fan of my 65" S90D…maybe I got an egg, but the color saturation is too much, and I've not been able to fix it. Even on the lowest color settings it can make my whites look neon-pink.

Got a S90D a month ago and I couldn't agree with you more. Color out the box was as fake and saturated as unicorn vomit. Do the "expert settings" instructions here, but leave the color tone as default and I'm sure you'll see a drastic difference. I'm coming from a Sony X900F which had amazing color accuracy out the box (all Sony's do to be honest), but I wanted to finally dip my toes into some OLED action:

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...d/settings

Brightness = 37
Contrast = 45
Sharpness = 0.
Color = 25'
(G/R) = '0.

Gamma = 2.2
Contrast Enhancer = disabled
Shadow Detail = 0

Peak Brightness = HIGH <3

Better color, yes. However, if any light hits the screen, it makes the black levels look grey. QD-OLED also has a noticeable purple tint unless the room is completely dark. My main TV is in a room with a lot of natural light, so QD-OLED is an absolute no for me. Skin can also look kind of pink when it shouldn't. QD-OLED is still generally considered the best display (especially in a dark room), but I'm good with my regular OLED.
That is some serious exaggerating there

Based on what you have posted any of these QD-OLEDs should exhibit this when being displayed in the store...and that is simply not the case

I have personally own( or have owned) both QD-OLED( Sony A95-L) and several WOLEDs( LGs E7,CX, ,G1)

Refurb from BuyDig via eBay makes me a little hesitant, but if the Allstate warranty holds up, it could be worth the risk.

Right?! Yeah the color is soooo overly saturated out-of-box.
Thanks I'll give this a try.

Just double checked my settings and I lowered my brightness to 35 and the color tone is "standard" not "cool". Let me know what you think!

Make sure you test you eArc port with Samsung TVs. The S90 series, have had earc issues - failure to produce sound on soundbars. They connect but often it's one way communication, which defeats the purpose of earc. Samsung Tech Support is very little help and makes it difficult to schedule repairs. There's a lot of complaints on the web - search "Samsung oled earc issues".
Mine works fine on the Bose 550 sound bar that was on eBay and now currently woot

Got a defective unit with green line on the top portion of the screen. Now I need to figure out how to return it.
