$1000 cash back less:
- $95 annual fee
- $50-100 opportunity cost for spending $5000 on a card that only gives 1%cb when you could have gotten 2-3%cb.
Still over $800 tax-free profit. Not bad at all.
Considering it. I have one more application before I hit chase 5/24, then wait for a boosted amex gold or platinum bonus.
Any 0% apr period on this?
Will they treat a tax payment at pay1040 as a cash advance? Most credit card vendors treat it as a purchase.

Keep the first year. Ask to downgrade after the annual fee is charged in the following year.
My first statement closed with only $49xx spend.
I have a transaction that will post in the next few days that will put me over $5K spend.
Do I have to wait until the second statement to see the 100K bonus points?

Typically the points will show as "pending" as soon as you cross the required spend, and will post with your next statement-- so if you do that before month 2 is done you get the points end of month 2.

Oh, well.
Once those points hit, I will be redeeming them for a statement credit and use the CSP to pay my estimated taxes. I don't travel so I won't be redeeming them for travel.

But I wanted the points so that they were there on the first statement so that I can redeem them against the $5000 spend.
I missed it by a few days.
Went to a branch on Tuesday. Was super easy. My card should be here tomorrow.
Bringing a friend later to sign up and will try and get referral points.
Hovering over the (i) icon brings up text saying that the points will post on the next statement.
The first statement's points I redeemed for "cash" to my M&T Bank's checking account.
I plan doing the same for the 100K points.
