Your second version is more like 401 cleaningj huh hi disinfecting best type of cleaning with wiping off Dirt and leaving a clean smell on the product
Best thing I ever used on shoes was a basic magic eraser. Wet it a little and scrub gently.
Dollar tree has small ones at the checkout just for shoes if you want to try it.
Will turn white shoes bright white again.

When I see foam I see overpriced
I spray the whole shoe. Let it sit there for a couple mins, then use a brush connected to my cordless drill (especially on the bottom). Use a magic eraser on the smooth, delicate areas.
