I know that this is the option for storage expansion to play games from on Xbox Series consoles, but man is it sad to see a 2TB for $200 being a flaming hot deal when regular 2TB m.2 Gen 4 NVME SSD's can be found for ~$120 without too much issue, not to mention the options for higher capacities. Proprietary storage was one of the things that really hurt the PSVita, and Xbox is similarly getting murdered this generation in sales (it isn't even close), and I think the storage is one part of the failure (games of course as well).
Talk about a huge rip off, people who are willingly paying for this are the reasons companies think they can get away with this crap..... A drive like this should not be any more than $140-150 at max counting their kick backs, especially with how cheap 2TB drives currently are getting running around $100 for the non big name brands.

Agree just sold a house last year, it was crazy as people bided up the price by 20k. I was shocked, the winning bid also opt out of an inspection to win the house.

Have another house for sale next month so hope the prices keep rising and selling fast like they have been this past month in my area.

I hope for a crash by Xmas to get in more on the stock market, housing etc.
You must still be in a highly sought after area, average prices of homes have been steadily dropping nationwide and they been sitting too at least in the Chicago NW burbs which I check regularly. Only the ones that are usually priced well below the market go quick in standard areas.

Yep also hoping for the foreclosures and the crash and hopefully it will be here soon to reset the market, I dont feel sorry for anyone in an underwater mortgage cause it was their own doing that got them into it.

Finaly prices seem to be coming down - paid $225ish a year ago.
at one point a few years back there was a deal where it was like 160 around the holidays?? or it was prime day i don't remember... honestly based on similar specs of what is actually enclosed on this it should be 150 easily by now as it isn't even a gen 4 ssd inside

its a gen 3 with dram ... still plenty powerful and fast enough to handle all current software tech.

Best buy also has this today for the Deal of the day as well as the 1TB for $110.00

That explains the Amazon price. Never run their own sales, just watch their competitors and match whatever sale they're running.

That's true for most of the country. Come to Long Island, and these people can't snap houses up fast enough, for what reason I don't know. Traffic is horrible here, taxes are insanely out of control, etc.

Alas, homes here always go for above ask, and they don't sit on the market long.

Great deal but only if I can flip my 1TB for a decent price.

That's funny I was just thinking the same thing myself, I just picked up a 1tb c50 drive about a month ago from Walmart on sale for $99

Yes just had 2 houses sell in my area within 2 days of posting for asking price or above. We are in WI subs and not in the city. So housing is hot here in the mid to high range prices of 300k to 750k range. The prices are at the same levels as last summer here and rising. Example one house nearby sold fast and I think it's overprice by $20k [zillow.com].

This is still $50 more than it should be, but it's progress.

That's because chances are VERY high that it's not private buyers buying it. It's being bought by private equity.

I sold a house a year ago for 30k more than I asked. Nice young couple bought it. Checked the tax records and it was transferred to an LLC a month after they bought it.

Many such cases.

A major why these seem so expensive is the overall form factor Microsoft chose. These are basically 2230 NVMe drives in a plastic shell. Even a bare SSD in that form factor costs way more than much more common 2280 NVMe form factor. Also since the PS5 takes bare SSD in 2280 that's why they seem cheaper (along there being more competition in that common size).

Mostly correct, but no one opted out of Xbox because of storage
1.games
2.ability to play Xbox games on pc
3.games again.
I had the series X for a while and just used a regular external m.2 4tb.

This meant I could keep at least 5 AAA games on the internal drive.

The transfer between external and internal is a matter of minutes. Which is only something I was doing every few months. I never needed the these drives. 5-mins vs $200 is easily a no brainer

I'm honestly not sure why anyone is even buying these. Use an external drive for storages and keep 3-5 major games loaded. Moving from external drive to internal to play the game is 5-10 mins. It's not like it's an everyday thing

Agree for the average use no, but I have kids and over 2,000 digital games. So we could run out of space quickly when installing Froza,,GTA and many other games.

I'd hang onto it if I were you. The consoles are well built and should last a good while. I'm still playing on an old xbox one s in my ofice at work, I'm sure the price on these things will last just as long and only increase as they become more rare down the road when the series consoles are "retro"

I like Xbox but it's so easy to buy a nice 8tb PlayStation drive and never worry about ssd storage again, all internal. Took me less than a minute, built in heat sink.

That seems crazy. 30 minutes to Milwaukee and 15 minutes to Racine. Zillow says no great schools nearby and you're still paying over $5k/year in taxes.
