I remember playing forgotten worlds as a kid! Wonder how it plays on the switch??

Both games feel quite different and to this day, you'll find those that prefer 2 over 3 and vice versa. You pretty much have to play them and see which you like more. Its not like the SF3 iterations where 3rd Strike is widely-considered superior over its predecessors.

I agree with the other comment, very different.
From what I recall (from ~20 years ago now) Alpha 2 plays much more like SF2 or SF3 while Alpha 3 goes more off the rails and has funky battle modes and playstyle modes.
These days, I feel like Alpha 2 was just a step in the progression of the genre while Alpha 3 is more of a fun tangent.
