Steelcase is an excellent brand. Worth the money but generally these are built to last and can be fixed as needed by parts from them.

I'd def get a second hand bc of the ridiculous cost. I have a euro tech bought at the start of the pandemic for daily work use $700…good but after research regret not getting the steelcase 2nd hand.

I do not know anything about this vendor but seems ok. Note credit card warranty do not cover pre owned products

From someone that has a HM aeron, HM Mira 1, Steelcase Amia, Steelcase Leap V2, Haworth Zody, and Haworth Very: best bang for the buck is the Haworth Zody.

Most Comfortable :
1. Zody
2. Amia
3. Leap V2

Best Recline:
1. Leap V2
2. Zody
3. Amia

Widest:
1. HM aeron
2. Zody
3. Very

Armrest:
1. Leap V2/Amia
2. Zody
3. HM Aeron

Obviously my opinion, but I've actually own these. Another sleeper would be the Knoll Life chair that you can find on CL or FB for like $30. Most of my friends that sit on one prefer it more than the HM products.

January 14, 2013 I bought a brand new Leap Chair from AllModern, who at the time was an authorized dealer.
Happy with it, I then bought another new one in January 2021 (to put in front of my musical keyboard) from this thread: https://slickdeals.net/f/14775508-new-steelcase-leap-chair-705-tax-fs-black-amazon-seller-amazon-authorized-reseller
The problem i always had with "cheap" office chairs from Best Best or Office Depot, was that the chair would eventually detach from the base pole. ...usually resulting in me doing a dramatic and comical backwards roll-out off the chair like a SCUBA diver entering the water, when they finally catastrophically fail.
The new Leap I bought in 2021 had me convinced I'd finally left that design problem behind. ↑ (2013 one was also still going strong) ...by spending about 7 times what I had usually spent on a new office chair. (going from about $100 with cheap chairs, to a whopping $700 for a Leap)
Now as I sit in my old 2013 chair, it squeaks very loudly when it pivots. And now (in the last week or so) I have begun listing hard to the left. Plus plastic bits have been breaking off and disintegrating the whole time. I often find little bits of broken black plastic on my floor under my chair.
My point is just to say, even these "nice" chairs are still far from bulletproof, though they ARE considerably tougher than standard cheapo office chairs.
It's tough call, whether they are actually worth it or not.
Comfort-wise they are great, and that's definitely worth a lot, for the time that they are working.
I'm interested in trying a Herman Miller Aeron chair next, since that was always my neck-and-neck pick versus Steelcase Leap anyway.

if you do decide to gamble with madison seating, buy it from their ebay store for easier returns/refunds.

Best Buy had brand new Gesture on sale for $750 for a single day a few months ago. Kicking myself for not buying it back then.

Agree, but at the same time Madison Seating has better prices. E.g. Leap V2 https://www.madisonseating.com/sh...steelcase/
price is so good on Madison seating. almost pulled the trigger, but a quick Google search saved me from a lot of potential trouble and headaches from them.

I got the leap V2 brand new from a local authorized dealership. The seat felt too flat. So I bought a used Amia from one of the ghetto chair suppliers. I yanked the seat and sent it to Crandall for them to add new foam/fabric. I then put the Amia seat onto the Leap V2 frame and made a Lamia.
It's ok. Unsure if it's worth the $1,500+ that everything cost me.
I still have the Amia with the original Leap V2 seat and I sit on that chair instead of the Lamia every so often.
If you're going to spend this much money on a chair, you might want to visit an authorized dealer to test out the chairs. I sat on a Gesture and did not like the seat one bit.

This is known to be a shite website selling either fake products or ones that have been very poorly "refurbished" and disguised instead as open-box items. Look up reviews. Too sketchy.

I have a Very that I can't recommend enough. Very comfortable chair to sit in for eight hours a day. Worth the money. I wouldn't hesitate to get another.

I would not recommend Madison. They don't appear to refurb with genuine parts and don't buy into their warranty, it doesn't cover much.

I need to go to a shop and try newer Steelcase chairs out and settle on what to 'invest' in.. I'm torn between the Leap V2 and the Gesture - which apparently has more of a seat cushion.

I've got an old Leap V1 I've been using for close to 10 years now (and I think it was already 15+ years old when I got it, as a madisonseating refurb) - it's still a decent chair, but I've been seeking something 'better', especially since the base has developed a slight 'wobble' over so many years of daily use.
I got a HM Aeron a couple years back and I barely use it at all, because I often sit with a leg on my chair or up to my chest, which just isn't comfortable with the Aeron's mesh seat. Should've just gotten a Leap V2 then but I'd changed my mind and wanted something a little more different than the Leap V1 for variety.

Crandall's a good company, at any rate. Got my Aeron from them.

Got a Steelcase for $100 on fb. Great chair. These would be better shape imho.
Agree with the brands quality. Got a steelcase brand chair in great shape at a moving garage sale for $15. At the time I didn't know it was a high end brand, but lucked out and it's the most comfortable computer chair I've ever had by far.
