Ok, contrarian opinion… not a good deal. Standard, Chinese components you can get at harbor freight for $12. The packaged it nicely, so the marketing is good.

What's the good deal about this? standard stuff that you can find kits all over walmart and harbor freight. Unless you have zero of these items....maybe?

Not worth $80, barely worth $30
Aside from the screwdriver, all of the other pieces are meh or garbage
I would buy if $20

I guess the good deal is that you can return it when the electric stuff craps out in a year or so. Fantikk shows us that the difference between a quality product and cheap Chinese garbage is commonly the packaging and "brand"
a tale as old as time

I mean, it's not the best set of tools but for $30, it's worth it... you can't even buy a quality estwing hammer for $30..

how are the other parts besides screwdriver?
I'd say the quality hovers around a Harbor Freight, give or take a bit.

In the previous thread, posters kicked around alternatives. I've got a ton of tools for myself personally, everything from the cheapest HF tools and Lowes/HD brand (Husky/etc.) up to original Craftsman, Knipex and Snap On. Tools have a place and purpose. Some people are professionals and can pay premiums for tools with very tight tolerances and a track record of reliability, others are on a limited budget and others still buy tools to sit in a box just in case they ever need them.

These were gifts for college students bound for dorms. They were a good combo of price point, versatility and quality. I wouldn't expect them to last a lifetime, but to serve for what 95% of college students might need while probably sitting in a drawer the entire time without taking up too much space you can't go wrong. Not a bad deal for an apartment dweller either. And Costco's return policy means if it's garbage you've got a backstop with a full money back guarantee.

It's hard to believe that the excel at function when they look that stylized. This seems like a kit for somebody who is more concerned about appearances.

Good to leave at elderly parent's house so they have tools when you're over and something needs fixing?

I have a complete Dewalt set in the garage and multiple screwdrivers. I bought this last month for $10 more just to keep in the linen closet when i need something quick and don't wanna go to the garage. Not a bad set for basic home stuff. For $30 it is perfect for what it is and the case is very nice.

Isn't it less torque on Worx WX242 than Fanttik?

Buy this for the kids/spouse/randos in your house before they take your tools (digging through toolboxes and displacing/hiding other things in the process), do something dumb with them, and fail to put them back where they belong.

I agree. Spend a little more money and buy the tools that actually work and build your own toolbox.

Maybe it's a decent gift for a college student living in a dorm or apartment.

If you're going to get an electric screwdriver get an electric screwdriver. Otherwise just get a good ratcheting screwdriver on top of your manual one. All just IMHO of course.

Straight garbage. Buy a better set for potentially less with harbor freight sales.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the S1 Pro and the E1 Max that's on sale for $35 from Amazon?
