I'd probably pay the extra $110 for the hydraulic brakes and upgraded battery. As with all Chinese no-name bikes, don't expect any support from the manufacturer. Any repairs will be your responsibility.

Weight is 74lbs.

Note that this code won't stack with the codes on the website.

Here's a review of the cheaper model [bikeride.com].

This page says it's UL approved [electrocruisers.com] but I have my doubts, especially since Senada doesn't mention it on their site.

One approval on Reddit [reddit.com]

Here's a guy riding it on an easy trail and then on the road (gets it up to an indicated 30mph). Unclear if this is sponsored.

Fat tire ebikes may not be ideal [youtube.com] unless you plan to ride on sand (TL; DW: higher mass and rolling resistance makes them inefficient, but they can be fun)

Don't have much to add but bought the senada harald plus for our 14 year old. He has ridden it everywhere and enjoys it, all flat roads here in Florida. Can ride to the beach over a bridge and back without using one bar of the battery.
Seems good to me, it showed up with a scratched rear fender, they responded quick and sent a new one. Shipped from China so took awhile.
Some screws came loose in the front brake assembly, a simple Amazon order fixed that as I didn't want to deal with screws coming from China. I kinda figure with these bikes if you get 2 years out of it then that's pretty good.
Long story short, the 14 year old likes it and has no complaints.

What about a bike bike if the goal is weight loss?

Can you elaborate why? Sorry I didn't know much about this
Because it's a 1000W eBike for 600 bucks. You literally can't find this for anything close to this price. I have the 750W Austin that I paid $509 for and it still works great. This is a better biked in every way but weight.

Anyone know if this comes assembled? The Senada does so just wondering?

Just out of curiosity, is this a Chinese no-name company? Asking because I just purchased a bike from them the other day that won't ship for a few weeks. Their website said they had a warehouse in California.
It has been around for at least several years now and other slickdealers have bought it. It did ship from california and it was quick shipping with no tax. Idk if they still don't charge tax but they didn't when I bought mine. I reached out to them for more information on their testing procedures and they sent me a long document outlining each test.

Great deal but my concern is taking it on trails that restrict anything with motors over 750w. The other issue for me is the lack of a step through version due to my hip issues. But still a very tempting buy for the price.

The brand is Senada. My guess is this comes mostly assembled but you will need to put the seat, handlebars and things like the chain guard pedals and reflectors on.

Is this thing going to burn my house down or what? Is this legit a good deal? Should I go a different route if comfort is my priority?

Might want to change out the seat, but with 4" tires and front suspension it should be pretty comfortable, especially if you're doing mainly street riding. If you're tall, consider a handlebar extension if you prefer not to ride leaning down.

Regarding "burning your house down", there's always a small risk of fire with large lithium ion batteries. That's why I'd prefer to buy something that's UL approved. If you can charge the battery outdoors and store it in a garage or shed away from other flammable materials, you'll be better off.

Can someone fact-check? I thought this was a Japanese manufacturer (Japan makes better stuff)

PS did my own fact-check, it's Chinese

I'd buy this but have the Austin already and don't see the need or room for both

On eBay you can typically get the same model with hydrolic brakes and dual 1000w motor for around 1k. I have one of those but personally I think the second motor doesn't do much overall, even on slippery hills because most of the rider weight is distributed to the back wheel (and the front wheel just spins). I see a lot of people are recommending hydrolic brakes but I personally don't feel like it is necessary. With a mechanical disk break you should have no problem locking the wheel at any speed already

Edit: search eBay for dual motor 2000w, sort by lowest and you will find what I am talking about for 1090dollars, so they went up a bit. I would go with the cheaper version posted here personally

My wife and I did a pair of the Austin folding bikes. Here are a couple observations in case it helps you:
  1. Tracking info went to my spam folder so make sure you check there in case you are wondering-- their support was very responsive in pointing this out.
  2. The front tire on my bike was installed in the wrong direction, according to the arrow. Confirmed my wife's was the correct direction
  3. Bikes are good for the low low cost-- easily 50 to 60% the cost of nearest bigger name. Quality impressed me-- I thought they would be complete junk. I equate to the kind of bike you'd find at Walmart but the motor and battery worked quite well
  4. Look up the part number for the controller that comes for your bike. On mine, pressing up and down at same time allowed configuration of important settings-- chief among them was to disable pedal assist which was terrible without a torque sensor. Now it is more like an electric motorcycle in that only get motor when using the throttle.
  5. The rear deck on the bikes we got don't appear to be standard as many accessories don't fit. I had to fabricate a mount for the kid seat to mount properly and sturdy
  6. Great deal if you don't mind wrenching on things

questions always remain on these things; what about the Downsides of this???
if the motor breaks, what do we do? are there generic parts to repair any of these kinds of bikes?
how about the battery, are there generic batteries we can buy, or does the bike become e-waste?
controllers, electronics et al, same question becomes no what when it fails?
so far i get no Real Answers; for me a small honda motorcycle makes more sense for repairs and parts. happens in life for everyone.

If the motor breaks, you could look into replacing the rear wheel, but I don't know if the wheel is made in house or bought from another OEM. The motor itself is probably a standard part, but rebuilding a wheel (which is what you need to do to replace the motor) is not for everyone.

Batteries are replaceable, although you may need to swap in a different battery mount, and it may not be cost effective (look up what e-bike batteries of this size cost). The rest of the stuff is almost definitely commodity hardware and can usually be found pretty cheaply on Amazon, eBay or Ali Express; it wouldn't make sense for a company like this to be making their own components.
