I'd probably pay the extra $110 for the hydraulic brakes and upgraded battery. As with all Chinese no-name bikes, don't expect any support from the manufacturer. Any repairs will be your responsibility.

Weight is 74lbs.

Note that this code won't stack with the codes on the website.

Here's a review of the cheaper model [bikeride.com].

This page says it's UL approved [electrocruisers.com] but I have my doubts, especially since Senada doesn't mention it on their site.

One approval on Reddit [reddit.com]

Here's a guy riding it on an easy trail and then on the road (gets it up to an indicated 30mph). Unclear if this is sponsored.

Fat tire ebikes may not be ideal [youtube.com] unless you plan to ride on sand (TL; DW: higher mass and rolling resistance makes them inefficient, but they can be fun)

Don't have much to add but bought the senada harald plus for our 14 year old. He has ridden it everywhere and enjoys it, all flat roads here in Florida. Can ride to the beach over a bridge and back without using one bar of the battery.
Seems good to me, it showed up with a scratched rear fender, they responded quick and sent a new one. Shipped from China so took awhile.
Some screws came loose in the front brake assembly, a simple Amazon order fixed that as I didn't want to deal with screws coming from China. I kinda figure with these bikes if you get 2 years out of it then that's pretty good.
Long story short, the 14 year old likes it and has no complaints.

What about a bike bike if the goal is weight loss?

My wife and I did a pair of the Austin folding bikes. Here are a couple observations in case it helps you:
  1. Tracking info went to my spam folder so make sure you check there in case you are wondering-- their support was very responsive in pointing this out.
  2. The front tire on my bike was installed in the wrong direction, according to the arrow. Confirmed my wife's was the correct direction
  3. Bikes are good for the low low cost-- easily 50 to 60% the cost of nearest bigger name. Quality impressed me-- I thought they would be complete junk. I equate to the kind of bike you'd find at Walmart but the motor and battery worked quite well
  4. Look up the part number for the controller that comes for your bike. On mine, pressing up and down at same time allowed configuration of important settings-- chief among them was to disable pedal assist which was terrible without a torque sensor. Now it is more like an electric motorcycle in that only get motor when using the throttle.
  5. The rear deck on the bikes we got don't appear to be standard as many accessories don't fit. I had to fabricate a mount for the kid seat to mount properly and sturdy
  6. Great deal if you don't mind wrenching on things
I have an Austin and kid seat on the way. Can you please expand a little bit more on the fabricated mount?

I have a lower tier Senada Austin that i've really enjoyed. I made a video about it!

I pulled the trigger on this one. Shipping on the first one was pretty quick.

i love the specs on this.. My bike will cruise at like 20 mph and hit 23 with me pedaling..

I did want it to be faster.. and have more cushion..

Why 21 speed? I don't understand why the front has a derailleur. Those just keep breaking or going out of adjustment.

Now if they can only develop a battery that won't burn your house down. I'd be interested.

Just google "e-bike battery fires" It's scary.

I believe one of the reasons is its from a major motorcycle manufacturer that you don't have to worry about if something happens. Then you have the quality components, mid drive motor and construction. Add to the that you got 2 batteries plus extended battery warranty. All that for 1900 which is about the same price as some of these generic Chinese companies charge for less of a bike

If you are getting this bike as a trainer / Workout bike, this isn't for you. Get one with a torque sensor. I have had a Ripcurrent torque sensor bike and it is much different from a cadence sensor. a cadence sensor bike will only go so fast in each power assist level, regardless how fast you pedal. This is more of a "moped" style, which is great for people for tooling around town and going to the beach. You will not break a sweat riding it. I have about 3k miles on my torque sensor bike over the last 1.5 years. I ride it in Eco mode(lowest setting) 6 to 10 miles a day. It is a great workout bike.

If you are getting this for a mountain / offroad bike, this isn't for you. It may look like one, but it is way too heavy and the cheap parts(screws, frame ...) will not take the beating a good mountain / trail bike can. Yes you can do easy trails through the woods, but don't expect a fun ride. It will shake your fillings loose.

**Now for the 21 speed. I have the same setup on my regular non-ebike(hybrid). It is very awkward and way overkill. Yes, I would love to have a couple more gears on my Ebike(7spd), but not this many. It requires much more maintenance than a standard 7 speed and is prone to problems. This is still a smoking deal, just realize what you are getting and what you are going to use it for.
* The motor is made by Senada, not bafang. Not sure who makes the battery cells yet. and the other components(brakes, derailer...) are of the lowest grade. The MFG has a warning not to use this outside the temp range of 41f-77f. They will function and probably last a good while, but this is not a $2000 Yamaha, Trek, ...

** Buy a good bike lock and if possible, take your battery with you when you can. Ebikes are one of the most stolen bikes out there Frown

*** Lastly. Battey life is always overstated. You will at best get about 60% of stated range(under normal conditions). Still a great smoking deal for a 1000W 48v bike for everyday cruising Wink

had battery issues but might of been from storing in garage over winter with low charge; but the process to get a new battery kind of sucks cause needed a multimeter to test it and open it up; many people don't want to troubleshoot before they send a new battery but i suppose it's not profitable to just send a new battery out every time someone forgets to charge their battery too

i think it's good now we have affordable ebikes even though it's chinesium
