The problem with that is, in store, the checkouts ring them up BOGO free, so you have to purchase an even amount of them... My mom wanted four, aunt wanted three, got to self checkout and last one rang up full price and the head cashier wouldn't budge on removing $8.48, and said they don't match their online pricing. So I left my cart, walked all the way back out to the garden center, got an eighth pot, finished checking out, and then returned one on the way out. What a stupid farking policy.
Interesting! Like your aunt, I need just three; I don't have much room for a fourth planter since I have a small shared condo patio. I'm curious how much you were refunded when returning just one if they rang up as BOGO free.

Refund was $8.48 plus sales tax, so $9.00 here with 6% sales tax.

Looks like there's 2 versions of this. One had a rubber plug at the bottom and one you have to drill yourself

I make Self watering pots for my figs. out of these as the holes are NOT drilled out until you do them.
My SWP's last about 5 years before the pots start to fail. By that time it needs a repot anyway.
I've seen people using for a fish pond , a bit above ground. Good idea also

Fill them half or 3/4 with all natural mulch (like pine bark) and then put your regular bagged soil or something, you're good to go.
you're good to go for 12 months, as you'll have to continue adding soil on top as the mulch decomposes.

ChipDrop will bring you a small mountain of woodchips if you're into free biomass.
