i caution everyone to maybe go see this in store, or at least be prepared to return it.

for 1. even though it is a 3 step ladder, the top step is only 26" high. thats only a couple more inches then a decent 2 step.

225lb rating is pretty darn low. and trust me it sure doesnt feel like it actually has that rating. it is super wobbly and sketchy feeling. its very narrow, and the steps are super small as well.

i wouldnt buy this for anything more than a petite women trying to reach a bit higher in the kitchen/laundry. trying to use this as an average size male, or even female, will leave you wanting.

I know this is a much more expensive ladder, but I'm using it as an example.

see the metal around the steps? That's what you want to have. Especially when the top step is part of the structure that keeps the thing upright. I would not rely on flimsy plastic to keep you 3' in the air... Or even 2'...

edit... Omg people. READ. I'm not saying you should buy the ladder ii linked to. Yes I know it is way more than the deal posted. Yes, I know it is no taller. I'm literally posting it to show people what I think is a very important feature that is lacking in the $20 step ladder, which is the metal steps, which also act as structural support. I'm not telling anyone what to buy or which to buy. I'm simply giving a caution. I thought I was being helpful, but apparently people are taking issue with sharing my experience/advice. You don't have to argue with me. Just buy it if you want.
About 6 months ago I picked up this step stool from Walmart for $18 (Cosco brand, tho identical), then soon wished I had bought two. Now my wish was granted. Thanks OP. Great step ladder and sturdier than I first expected.

Edit/Update: My Gorilla step stool was just delivered moments ago.
It appears it's not identical to my Walmart Cosco 3-step step stool and disappointingly very inferior to Walmart's model.

Each platform on the Gorilla stands 1" lower on rise, which makes the 3rd platform 3' shorter in height, compared to my $18 Walmart step stool.
But even more critical is that each platform on the Gorilla has about 30% less surface area and makes the entire step stool somewhat wobbly, whereas the Walmart/Cosco version is rock solid. Both rated at 225 lbs.
Considering returning and waiting for another deal on another Walmart/Cosco one.
The one you listed does look beefier but it also costs more than 2x as much, but more importantly carries the same 225 lb. rating as the one posted here.

The Cosco one I got at Walmart on a sale for $18 is linked below:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/COSCO-.../397155847

I like it miles better than the Gorilla one, as it's much sturdier, with 30% bigger step platforms, plus the top step platform is 3" higher than the Gorilla.
The quality is visibly better, as well. The Cosco one also has 2,176 ratings with a 4.8 out of 5 rating and these reviews aren't the fake type.
Right now it's $39.97, but I'll be checking it regularly for any price drops/deals.
I second this Cosco model. I own this and I've used mine for a few years now. Just used it last night to fix the garage door opener - up and down on it for about an hour.

I didn't realize it was only rated for 225lbs....I'm a couple lbs over that. Always felt sturdy though, leaning to paint or sanding drywall.

Are these made in China? Are they going to cost 145% more in a week?
