Fwiw, ansi + osha safety ratings are tested at 4x the advertised weight rating. So this ladder passed a 1,000 pound 90 second stress test without "buckling"... you good big guy

You have to lift up the top step after pressing the button to collapse the ladder. What you are describing isn't possible.

If you're going up this step stool forwards, the lock is on the left side. But even if you are somehow able to step far enough off the platform to disengage the lock, I don't see how it could collapse with your weight on the step. Maybe you didn't have it fully open and locked in the first place.

The employee couldn''t find any even thought app shows 29 in stock. So they sold me this one for the same $19.88. I was ok with that since it was a little heavier duty.

so at 190 if im trying to put something thats 45# up on a shelf or whatever does this ladder become at risk of collapsing ?
