You can purchase adapters to install 3 bolt cleats (e.g. SPD-SL, look keo, Garmin vector/look delta) but they are a bit kludgy and won't be recessed and hard to walk with.
Also, the toe box on this model is a bit narrow so I had to use shoe trees to stretch out before wearing. The sole isn't super rigid, so you might get hotspots on longer rides.
