It's worth noting that the TX-8220 is a 2 channel stereo receiver. No video. Completely different use case than the TX-SR3100

Better to spend $200 then, as opposed to $1k. I agree though. All we need is some new codec to become popular and all our gear is for the garage

No phono in, if that matters to people.

The TX-8220 model has it, for this same sale price on Amazon.

I am so gun shy buying another receiver. Bought a yamaha and a denon within the previous couple years, yamaha repaired once under warranty. Denon problem was so intermittent that warranty ran out. But dang, for $200, this looks like a really good deal. 👍

I'm gun shy about buying another receiver because they go obsolete so damn fast.

Have only had good units from Onkyo, and I've been needing something with HDCP 2.3 support. In for one!

My Pioneer keeps annoying me as it freezes every now and then, but I am more audio focused. 2.0 stereo is all I need. Definitely need something with AirPlay 2, and ideally bi-amp capability.

5.1 is enough for me. Anything more is gravy.

Unless you want to get a preamp and connect it to the AUX input.

I have an older higher end Sony 5.1 receiver that sounds pretty good for movies, especially blue rays. Will this virtual Atmos height effect make much of a difference? I don't know if I'm ready to put speakers in the ceiling.

Pyle electronics have a notorious reputation of burning down homes. Make sure you have good fire insurance on your home before plugging in any crap made by Pyle LMAO

My Yamaha is at least 10 years old but still serves me well. What has changed that makes an upgrade worth buying?
