For only $50 more (using the hack) you can buy the latest and greatest M12 Fuel combo. I think that's a lot better value.

Can't believes you don't know about the buy more saves more lumber jack hack attack. Buy two of the cheap items, select the item you want, then check out buys 3 items, then return refund the two cheap items & keeps your discounted item in the truck. Come on man, get with da program.

Is this legit? Yes, Homey Depot & Milwaukee knows whats up with dis trick. Otherwise, they woulda blocked it like 10 years ago, but they just let it go cause it helps with their sales #s.
Is this moral? Up to you decide buddy. I'm no priest.

Been using this set for over 10 years. And paid $85 back then. Even though it's not the fuel. They have never let me down

somehow the Enjoy $15 off* your next in-store or online purchase of $100‡ or more made on The Home Depot Consumer Credit Card doesn't work anymore, it jacks up the price.

Don't let the small size, light weight and 12 volts fool you. I reach for this before my DeWalt 20V stuff, and have built 100's of linear feet of redwood fencing using this tiny powerful driver.

deal [homedepot.com]

$99 + Free S/H

feels like a nice price for a light duty setup

the 4 tool [homedepot.com] and 5 tool [homedepot.com] kits seems like very nice deals too... for $199 each
This is a good choice for like an apartment owner, home owner not doing anything heavy duty. This is the old basic brushed set up. I think I bought one for like 79 bucks a few years ago, just because.

I use M12 tools for my RV because they have a smaller footprint than my DeWalt and a lot of choices ranging from the grease gun, soldering iron and wet dry vac, inflater to tools that will FIT in the small areas of an RV or under cabinets in the house. In some cases I prefer the old brushed vs fuel because of size. I do carry a half inch drive for tires

People rag on this set up but it depends upon what you need. Frankly for most people, this is just fine. At home, I have DeWalt ranging from the FlexVolt snow thrower, grinder, outdoor blower, circ saw and table saw. When building a deck, this isn't the tool set but for 90% of what the average homeowner does, it is. And at a good price. Of course once you do buy it you will be looking for more to buy... It's inevitable.

Well of course you got me looking at the Home Depot site and I ran across the DeWalt 20Volt set up https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../204373168

It's 125 bucks at Home Depot.

This is ONLY 125 bucks but overall is a step up on power and capability and will get you into a higher level platform for only 25 bucks more. IF you intend to expand your tools in the future this is a good start. First, these are brushed tools and the least powerful charger BUT, the 885 impact driver is still considered one of the best. Many contractors still favor this impact over the myriad new ones they have come out with. And the drill has some oomph at a killer price.

Here is a vid on this drill. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiL9UJAe7vM

This is a quick vid on the impact driver. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6mC1p1IczY

You really can't go wrong on this set. The impact is contractor level. As the review above shows the drill is much more capable than the M12 and I like the M12. set. I promise the M12 will not drill the holes the video guy has. This set is a great start into the DeWalt platform.

Really consider the DeWalt. That's about the cheapest I've seen ever and the 885 itself is worth it imho.

I'd start looking on ebay at some point for a better charger and scout around for 3 to 5AH battery deals at HD, Lowes, and on Ebay I got a "yellow" fast charger last year for like 59 bucks a score. On Ebay, ONLY buy from high volume and 99% good reviews.

Second that. Absolutely don't need it, but if the fuel kit ever gets to $99 or maybe $119 I'm going to bite. And if it doesn't, will save a little cash

Agreed, these are my go-to drivers for work around the house and on the property. The power is fine, the size and ergonomics are great. They are far more powerful (and smaller) than older gen 12V gear they replaced. I have invested in a few 18V Milwaukee and Makita tools, but still haven't gotten around to buying an 18V driver--because I haven't need one. A few times a year I grab the corded DeWalt for a heavy job, otherwise these are great tools. 110% would buy again.
