I think someone said you need to get box beam or something especially if you are trying to check level of something this long?

More of a question of durability over accuracy. Box beams are more durable and better suited for a contractor/job site environment where it gets a lot of use and abuse. Either is fine for a typical DIY homeowner. Just don't be too hard on it.

Edit/update: my 78" arrived today. $40 seems like a steal! Not sure when I'll need a 6' bubble level, but I know I'll be glad when I do.
