Truth be told, they'd probably pile up on my freezer/desk until DH started to make cleaning up noises, and since DH is of the "when in doubt throw it out" mindset - well... I'd *have* to organize it.

I think that's how I "lost" my very good kodak digi cam and my PDA shortly after we were married!! I think they got swept up into a trash bag and tossed with some piles of papers. Sadwalk
I used to get 30+ inserts a week from diving in the recycle bin at the newspaper office.. but they moved and I don't know where it is nowLMAO I usually buy a couple of papers, but at 2.50 each, it is cheaper for me to buy just the coupons I want from a clipper, so that is what I have been doing the last few weeks. When I got a ton of inserts, I just pulled the coupons out, threw the rest of the paper back in the recycle bin.. Took the inserts home right away and filed them in a hanging file folder box. labeled the folder with the date and wrote either SS or RP beside the date.. Then, when I want a coupon, I just pull that folder and cut what I want. pretty easy for me.

And hey, third shift means you get to shop during normal retail hours - right?? Smilie

TN - cute post. LOL. In spite of how useful our stockpile is, DH would freak if our house approached Hoarders status. LOL DD wants a 3 bedroom place so she can have her own room. laugh out loud I want a 3 BR place so I can use the "extra" room to store stuff in! Right now, all my stockpile is in our 1st floor 1/2 bath - which would be VERY convenient to have access too at this stage of pregnancy.
My husband can't stand it either when it gets out of control..
You have all of your stockpile in a bathroonLMAO Mine started in the bathroom under the sinks, then spread to the bedroom walk in closet. My DH can't stand the clutter, so he is actually the one who organizes most of it now.. All extra food items that won't fit in the pantry, or that we are hiding from the kids goes into our closet on the shelves.. We have about 40 12 packs of soft drinks, extra cereal, lots of 100 cal packs, and candy galore in there now.. Then the pantry is of course full, with the bottom floor of the pantry being totally covered with ziplocs, MP juice boxes, and swiffer stuff. The hall closet has an entire shelf of light bulbsRoll Eyes (Sarcastic) Then the major part of the stockpile is in the garage. I have 2 shelving units for stuff I want to keep for personal use on one side of the garage. It has my extra shampoo, laundry detergent, snuggle, cleaning supplies, air freshner, etc. Then drawers that hold deo, makeup, toothpaste etc.. With my TP stash stacked up the wall to the ceiling.
Then the other side has stuff I will sell. I have a big tall shelf there too, and about 8 or 9 rubbermaid totes stacked with stuff. Alot of those totes are empty now cause I just had a sale. It has taken quite awhile to get some kind of organization going, and it is so much better. When I had my first yard sale last year, we worked for days trying to sort and price everything and it was still not organized. But before last weeks sale, we just spent about one hour pricing the things that weren't, sorting, and loading everything into the car.. It was much easier. And at the end of the sale, it was super easy to put things back into the correct tote, load them up and go.. They have definitely made things so much easier for meworship

That system sounds like something I could keep up with. I've also toyed with the idea of a big binder to keep all clipped Qs in (that way, when I need one, I just look it up in the binder, and its already clipped, instead of having to clip one Q at a time from my stacks of inserts) and then little individual coupon organizers for each store. Since my Target coupons rarely get used at , say, Safeway, etc. Guess I just need to pick a system and go with it!

And I agree on the recycling. I gather all mine together and drive to the local high school. They have huge recycling dumpsters to dump paper and other recyclable items. And if I just happen to see an insert or two inside while I'm dumping mine ... well, even better! Its still recycling, right?? Big Grin
In addition to the hanging folders, I do 2 of the coupon binder type things.. One is very small and fits into my purse. I just use it for cvs. I have a *couple* of cards, and each card with it's extra bucks and coupons has its own slot. The back pockets hold clipped coupons that I know I will probably use at cvs. Then I have a big accordian type folder that I use for the rest. The first 2 pockets hold all of the coupons I regularly use at target, or think I would use there. The third pocket is target coupons or mailers. Next one has tearpad coupons, several pockets have just loose cut coupons, and back is for coupons I will use at publix. Then when I am planning a run either before I go in, or as I shop, I pull out the coupons I am using for that particular store and put them in the very front of the binder.

ah... a garage would be nice!

We are renting a little townhouse/condo (whichever they want to call it). It has 2 br, 1 1/2 bath, kitchen with some decent cabinet and small pantry space, and then a combo living/dining room. Our closets are small, so they pretty much just hold our clothes and miscellaneous personal items. Frown I have done fairly well at keeping a set of shelves in the 1/2 bath for our personal stuff, and then storing in rubbermaid totes with the rest. But we are now at the point that without some creative cramming, we can't close the door to the 1/2 bath! The totes are stacked above my head!

I'm considering purging the kids room since it has a set of built in shelves. Just not sure what I could store there without my dearest toddler exploring!

OK, so I am thinking about starting Rite Aid. Anyone shop there regularly that can point me to a helpful thread, or want to give me some basics? I read the current weeks thread, and all the talk about wellness and +UP stuff is really confusing. Not sure what it means. Help!!! Smilie
I am NO expert but I just strated Re doing RA and here is what I found helpful:

Rite Aid - Master List of RA Printables

then I just read the weekly thread and copy n paste all the sample deals of the Pros then print it out a decifer what is best for me.

Some stores are super coupon nazis but then some are like scan scan scan! I think the most important thing with RA is the figure out each week what is the freebie to get you closest to $20 to use with the 5/20 to get the rebate items for free with the $5 off of the 5/20 then get the rebate as a MM an then turn around and use it to keep rolling

PLus with RA there is a lot of dbl dipping because you keep the reciepts so you still have them to file with MfRebates etc....

IDK maybe we can help each other for a bit Cool

First - WOW you are super organized!!!!!! What do you do about your shampoos etc freezing in the winter? Do you have to bring it all inside? Or do you have a heated garage? I gotta find a way to organize/place to put stuff. The closets in our house (like Anks) are full so we have a disorganized pile of unsightly clutter with my stockpile .... hmmmm. My goal this summer if to find a place ... so I was thinking of getting one of those small "sheds" or little things you can put a lawnmower in and putting stuff in there .... but it would get hot in the summer & cold in the winter and I am thinking that would be bad for some of the stockpile. Oh and I order clipped coupons as well - there really isn't any other way to do it here.

LOL - you really are oganized ... I just use the envelopes that the ordered coupons arrive in. LOL I reuse until they rip through ... then I just take the next envelope from the pile.

Where do people who get their inserts free get them anyway?? Do they actually buy them?? I've heard some people say that they can find .25-.99 papers......I sure haven't found anything like that here!

Some folks get them from dumpsters (they lock them up here so you can't get to them) and some folks like TN have deals with her carrier ---- some have deals with local gas stations (I used to have one for a short time but they decided that they couldn't give me their left overs anymore and now throw them away in their locked up dumpsters) --- some have arrangements with local grocery stores ... I would call around and ask. You might have more friendly receptions than did I and if you find a source of free coupons that would rock!!! As far as getting papers for .25 - .99 I have not seen any in my area --- but it is possible.

Lucky you on the printer!!!

Any suggestions on good (reputable) places to order meds for cheaper? Although I doubt they will get much cheaper than Target huh? I have a coupon from the manufacturer of my prescription. I wonder if that will void my GC coupon?
I have a prescription that I take that costs $6 per pill and I take 2 per day Faint

And it's not on DHs Insurance formulary so yeah, very spendy.

I ordered from this place CanadaGeneric.com a few times and they were less than half price. I also just found a place called HealthWarehouse.com that was so cheap that I questioned the efficacy of the meds. They do appear to be of the same strength, just not sure why so cheap. For a 3 month supply, what would cost over $1000 was less than $100. Hope that you can find what you are looking for!

KOPenney: Will be rooting for you! woot

Unfortunately, I am one of those who does not keep receipts for very long. I am a little obsessive about clutter and I am constantly throwing papers out...sometimes that is a VERY bad thing, but when I get going, I just don't think about the things going into the trash. plus, I do a lot of rebates, so my receipts get sent out...I really should start photocopying everything. Speaking of, does anyone know of a good printer deal? I would like to get one of those all in one units but not sure where to start looking.

When I CVS'd I kept a small coupon holder for each card I had. I got them from the Dollar Spot at T and they worked great. For shopping at T, I always plan my runs ahead of time and put my q's in an envelope. From having a dd that works there, I know that they notice shoppers with binders and coupon holders, etc. so I just take in what I know I'm going to use and hope to be more Ninja that way Wink

I got my Lexmark all in one wireless printer through best buy. It was a thread in hot deals where if you bought a laptop/netbook you got a printer for 10.00. The laptop was oos and the order cancelled, but the 10.00 printer got delivered woot I heart it.

I like to clean too - used to have a small cleaning biz! I am not a "hoarder" per se (but could become one, I'm suspect), but I do have the "can this be reused/recycled/repurposed/passed to someone else" kind of mindset. That often annoys DH who doesn't see why we should keep plastic pop bottles, oatmeal boxes, etc... I figure - crafts, planters, storage for kids toys, blah blah blah... My biggest issue is with the "passed to someone else" stuff - I get it together, but it often doesn't leave the house as quickly as I (or DH) would like. My brain doesn't take me that far, I guess. I forget all kinds of stuff!

I haven't heard that - gonna have to go look it up.

I can guarantee that my little girlie pie is NOT better behaved when it comes to leaving things alone... and she's a climber - so I think I will go ahead with the purging the room part, but figure out some other storage space!!

We do have a tiny outside shed too, but between bugs (spiders galore) and the weather, I can't even imagine what I'd put out there. Like you mentioned, I'd hate to have stuff freezing or melting with temp changes. (also why I haven't utilized the tiny attic we have for stockpile) Plus, there's the danger of water damage, etc... For garage storage, I would think that if you store the liquidy things on the house wall, that there would be a little less chance of freezing because it shoudl retain some heat/temp stability from the house area. I guess if you are really worried, you could also put a space heater in there during winter time and run it to stay at 45-50ish. Still cold, but not likely to damage anything.

And yup - if i"m taking a road trip - I'm swinging by for some preserves and yummy garden goodies!!

Ugh... finally getting the actual bills from the docs from DH's first ER visit. Oh the fun.

Has anyone else noticed a lot of junk mail after ordering q's off of eBay? I keep getting chain letters and/or stupid mlm business things or "here's a great vitamin supplement you should try" stuff. UGH. And I am *sure* they are coming from eBay/eBay sellers because they are coming addressed to my former name (never changed it on eBay/paypal accounts) - which is the only place I ever use my former name.

Well... better run for now. Wave Hope you all have a great day!

I swear I am going to be that mom who walks her HS senior to home room everyday laugh out loud I just can't imagine letting my kiddos out of sight for even a second. These stories about missing kids are so sad, and it's even sadder to know that most of the time, some family member knows where they are nod

On the topic of inserts, I'm one of the lucky ones who has a "free" paper that has inserts in it. I'm usually able to get quite a few copies on weekends when there are good Qs. Granted once I've got the insets, then I have to clip the Qs Annoyed

I label my inserts by date and then store them in hanging file folders. I am usually pretty good about going back and recycling the P&Gs when the next one comes out. And I usually don't keep them for longer than 3-6 months (mainly b/c I start running out of space).

I keep a pouch of my most used Qs in my purse at (almost) all times, just in case. And before a T run, I pull Qs and put them in a labeled envie (like Teri was describing). Finally, I have a coupon storage box (bought from ebay) that is my "home base" for clipped Qs (and ordered Qs). It never leaves the house, but that is where I pull Qs from to setup a run.

I got one about 6 months ago - it's a Brother color wireless laser (bought from Amazon). I wasn't so sure about the wireless, but I really needed a good printer. I am sooooo happy that I got it. Not only is it a great printer, but being able to wirelessly print from any computer in the house is f.a.n.t.a.s.t.i.c!
