True - but I'd rather have the print magazine much easier for me to read.

Note - Effective with the May/June 2025 issue, Consumer Reports Magazine is moving to a bi-monthly publication.

Up until a few months ago, I had been using Discount Mags for years. Most recently, I purchased a hard copy subscription from Discount Mags. Instead of receiving hard copy, I received nothing. I contacted DM, and here is their response: " As a valued subscriber, we're excited to announce that we're upgrading your subscription to a digital one". Upgrade? WTH? Digital access was 25% of the hard copy subscription cost. Goodbye Discount Mags.

I did contact the actual magazine and explained my lack of hard copy due to DM. They said not uncommon with DM, and reinitiated my full hard copy subscription + digital.

Note that the DiscountMags information is outdated, and you are getting 1 year (or 2 years) but NOT 13 (or 26) issues. With the latest issue, CR has switched to publishing only every other month, so you'll get either 6 or 12 issues.
True, but they are going from approx 70 pages per issue to 116 pages per issue

The Discount Mags listing clearly states you're buying 26 Print Issues ... So they have to honor that or else it's bait-n-switch.CR can cheap out and switch to an issue every two months all they want (reducing from monthly issues is the first step to a publication going under..but we'll see) However they owe you 26 physical issues and whether that takes 2 years, 4 years, or however long then so be it, but if they try to claim something else then yeah..
It actually states that each issue counts as 2 issues as they have nearly doubled the number of pages

That still works out to a reduction in the total number of pages, and there's no guarantee they won't reduce the page count in the future. Buyer beware.

I love CR! Just a reminder that if you are an Apple News+ subscriber you already have access to the print edition (on your devices, that is).
Does it cover the older issues? Or is access for most recent issue?

CR is great for aging vehicles, but for new cars - especially new models, it's a guess at best based on past performance. With manufacturers moving to 4 cylinder turbo models, expect more issues and shorter lifespan. For tools and all types household and shop items, Project Farm on YouTube is invaluable. Appliances - most are made by 2 or 3 companies. Lowe's and HD have enough reviews to steer you away from problem units. The more bells and whistles, and the larger you go, the more problems. There's a reason Speed Queen and Maytag Commercial are small capacity. For A/V, RTings is by far the best.
In this day of disposable everything, warranties mean nothing. Thus the massive move towards purchasing from Costco, or putting an Allstate extended warranty on an item. And the warranties usually are purchase price refunds, not repairs. What's funny is that almost everything has a repair guide video on YouTube.

everyone says to check with your local library. my library provides the online access and my library also gives me access to Libby but they do not carry the digital subscription to CR.
