Most of the cells sourced in these generics are also used by name brands. Some are better than others in certain areas that affect performance, but obviously they're all the same base chemistry.
And as Samsung proved with the Note 7 or Apple with all their lithium polymer based MacBooks, any company is susceptible to defects.
If anything, this simply won't get anywhere near its rated power or longevity and will kill itself for some inexplicable reason not related to the battery at all.
But burn your house down? Hardly.
