It looks near as good as OLED as far as colors are concerned. It is also able to provide very bright light. The local dimming on this is very good in black scenes where there is bright light in the scene. The downside is you will see some blooming in scenes with yellow lights especially if you have it on high.
Cinemotion should be on to use motionflow and that should be set to your preference to remove judder. It works really well, there is some artifacting at times. Since I game at >60fps, I hope some day movies switch to high frame rate as well.
Live color at least on low with peak brightness on high are neat features if you want bright lights to look real. Die hard was really cool with police lights looking life like and the ricochets and flash lights were super bright and incredible to experience.
The upside to the tv of great viewing angles like a OLED is also one of the biggest downsides to the tv due to the rainbow film on it. If you have any sort of lights in front of the tv you will see rainbow reflections. Also interestingly if you lay on your side and look at the tv you will see more blooming. You cannot use any cleaners on the film or you will ruin it.
The acoustic center sync feature is decent. First you will hear a speaker on hiss at all times if you use it. The unfortunate part about it is it only uses the atmos tweeters towards the top back of the tv. It makes the sound very thin and high treble especially if backed against sheetrock . I liked the sound stage it provided with a HTA7000 but hated the treble in the tv so I muffled the speakers to tone it down. I like that you can use the tv menu to control the Sony soundbars.
The Google tv app only mode is nice but I don't use the Google side of it because it's too dim and no way to brighten it outside of an app. The tv seems to work well with the Apple TV 4K on Dolby vision. Some random speaker pops on the hta7000 with it though. Atmos content works well especially with the tv center sync but I'm not impressed by Sonys immersive AE and 360 spatial on non atmos audio and turn it all off.
For gaming it works fine on 120hz and VRR with the PS5 Pro. The auto tone mapping feels gimmicky and I couldn't notice much difference. I did find most games seemed dark so I had to use the advanced contrast enhancer feature to brighten the scene (I also use it on Dolby vision). The menu will show it's in VRR but will not display current fps.
Overall I'd say it's worth this price due to the near oled visuals, but any higher price I'd go for oled to avoid the rainbow reflections and blooming.

Last tv i bought 13 years ago, they "had" to take it out of the box and make sure it showed a blue screen before they left, and they were not allowed to put together the stand. So had a brand new tv leaning on the wall...
Got a tracking number from pilot freight, but its not letting me schedule a time yet.

Debating this or the X90 from Costco for the same price. Thoughts?
The x90 just has dimming zones, like high end tvs from 15 years ago.
The x93 has double the contrast and 25-50% brighter, and has the wide viewing angle filter(which doesnt really help with viewing angles, but does really help with reducing reflections if you are directly facing the tv).
To put it another way, the x93k, which is the 2022 with the same exact screen, was $3000+ and as close to oled as you could get, while also being 2x brighter than a mid range oled.
As for the 95L (they only made it in 85")and bravia 9, they are the flag ships, the best you can get in terms of picture quality in a well lit room, better than oled. Yes oled will look better in a basement with no lights. But You would need a LG G4 to beat it, a B4 is still going to lose.
Brava 7 has a newer processor correct? Any major difference in the processor?

All the sets since at least 2022 have the quad-core processor (4x Cortex A73 chip) running between 1800 and 2000 mhz depending on the year, and 3-6 gig of ram depending on he year. The bravia 7 does make the jump to googletv 11.
AS for oled burn in for desktop use, i have 8000 hours on my FO48U with zero burn in. It has 3 levels of burn in protection/leveling. Its really just a relabeled LG C3
The war between RGB and WRGB is over for OLED, and the pure RGB lost, too dim, too much burn in, and without the pure white, they cant make white images as good.

I highly recommend Walmart as a seller. This is a very very heavy thick tv. 140 lbs. Make sure your Tv mount is truly rated for this weight. Walmart cancelled installer however they had booked 2 separate people come. One showed up one got the message from Walmart. oops
The X93L looks incredible, it looks 3D. In my situation it feels like an upgrade from the A75L/A80L.
I bought one, pretty happy with everything so far.
Smooth delivery, two guys and a truck, showed up during scheduled window, dropped at front porch, no damage.
TV is bright enough, no glare what so ever. Top rare cover seam is a bit big, but you wont see it any way.

I think that's a typo on their website. The shipping weight on the one I ordered was listed as 114lbs on the shipping label.
he was like "if it's farked up call walmart and they will send us back out to pick this one up and deliver a new one".
