They state that any used store credit will be subtracted from the refund if returned.

"Offer is void, and earned Google Store credit will be deducted from your Google Store credit balance, if your qualifying product purchase (or any part of the order) is returned. If you have already redeemed Google Store credits at the time of your qualifying product return, credit value will be deducted from your refund. Credit is non-transferable and not valid for cash or a cash equivalent. Google Store credit expires 365 days from the date of issuance."
